On tap at the Publican. Poured a near clear gold with a slight amber hue with a white head that dissipated slowly to the edges and laced slightly. Aroma was full of pine hops with a bit of light grain and yeast backbone. Flavor had a nice pine note with slight floral and grain backbone. Well rounded.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2012 On tap as Minx. This one is sweet and not too hoppy, but it is good, it will remind you a of a Magma or something like that.

Called Minx, pours an Orange amber with a white head into a tulip glass. Nice aroma with an interesting flavor starts off sweet with Malts and notes of fruit then finishes with a hoppy bite. I was told I was drinking from the last keg in existance at 101 bottles of beer on the wall in Kent Ohio

Draft sample at CBW AKA Minx. Poured cloudy copper color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex yeast and floral hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy tropical bitter hop flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good beer that exceeded my expectations.

Tap @ BBF:NOTF. Nose is caramel, solid hop character, not much in the way of yeast. Kind of like a middle of the road barleywine. Flavor follows with noticeable alcohol & honey sweetness.

Pours copper with an off-white head that has nice lacing rings. The aroma has fruity earthy Belgian yeast and toasted malt along with mild woody and piny hops. Medium / full body with gentle moderate carbonation. The flavor starts quite sweet and malty with heavy nectar fruitiness from the yeast and spicy / piny hops. The finish dries out a bit and is hoppier, but still on the sweet side. Good beer.

Known as Minx and on tap at Madison’s. The beer pours to a glowing orange body. Very delicious fruity Belgian IPA. Floral and filled with tropical fruit components.

On tap at Madison’s as Minx - Pours reddish-amber with very little head. Limp hops on the nose with lots of sweetness, honey, and a bit of alcohol sharpness on the nose as it warms. Taste is sweet, bready malt, lightly fruity yeast. Really sweet and syrupy with an almost nutty finish. Smooth, slick and viscous. I think this one is a bit old.

While this hits the mark it falls just short of the world class category. Whether it is the way that the hops interact with the Belgian yeast or something else it slips a little bit. Regardless it is a fine Belgian double IPA and on any other night would make a good selection.

Aroma / Appearance - The thin white head faded into the amber bronze body. Sparkling with life the nose is a typical rosy Belgian with a hop presence somewhere on that fine line between IPA and Imperial IPA. Semi-tropical it distracted nicely from the pouring rain out the window.

Flavor / Palate - Flowers and dried rose petals cling to the throat. Belgian yeast is wild and untamed. Solid with no huge flaws the only thing it lacks is the ability to capture the imagination. Perhaps the bar was set too high by Lolita. Hopefully this makes more appearances in the future so more people can try it and judge for themselves.

On tap at Madison’s as "Minx". Poured near-clear medium orange with a short dusting of white head. The aroma opened with warm fruity sugars, a pinch of oak, and Bretty funk.. vanilla and honey joined in too.. very inviting. The flavor found warm molasses and caramel at the core, with dry white peppery yeast laced throughout.. a little more astringent than the nose indicated.. long, spicy finish with honey supporting a hefty dose of catty bitterness and white spices. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate.. solid feel and flow.. good one!
