Smells of stout and berries. Low carbonation. Tastes like a nice roasty stout up front with a really delicious jammy berry aftertaste that lasted 10-20 seconds.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2015 I was expecting just about nothing out of this and I was surprised that this was one of my favorite Bourbon County variants.

You know what bourbon county looks like, and this is no exception.
Aroma is really delicious, with plenty of chocolate, sticky bourbon, barrel, vanilla, caramel, and some jammy jam from the berries. The berries are really well integrated, and adds another layer of complexity to this boss of a stout. Slight roasted malts, slight coffee. Really well made.
Taste is quite sweet up front, with faint roasted bitter notes. The berries add some slight acidity to it, but it suits this, pretty sweet and slick stout, pretty well. Mouthfeel seems a little more watery than the original Bourbon County, but is still somewhat oily and semi thick viscous. Slight heat in the throat, but not bad at all. I dig this 4sho.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bombe obtained via trade. Bottled 20 nov 2013.
Grandiose!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Many thanks to Ron for the bottle.
Yields a viscous, completely black color, with a very small head, which leaves back a thin, brown lacing, while the beer turns ember at the edges of the glass.
Reveals aromas of milk chocolate, toffee, a faint coffee infusion and scorched walnuts. There is also oak, vanilla and a sweet, alcoholic berry fruitiness. Incedibly complex nose, with berries working very well with hot Bourbon, reminding me of pralines, while vanilla accentuates both the barrel and the marmelade fruits.
Drinks very, very smooth, with a lower carbonation, revealing the beer’s full body.
Sweet, sugar rolled, fruits are recognizable from the very beginning, accompanied by chocolate, molasses and burned, rich malts. Then the barrel not only lends its wooden qualities to the taste, but also its luscious, slightly biting heat. While the fruits are well pronounced, they are perfectly integrated into the beers chocolate maltiness, without overpowering the overall taste. Berries and Bourbon blend together to a hot peak on the palate, which’s aftermath reveals warm wood, earthy chocolate and a flowery dryness. During its finish, the beer develops a syrupy caramel note among the alcoholic berries.
Overall this is a fantastic beer. It exhibits a fantastic depth of various flavors, all coming together in great harmony. My biggest concern, too much marmelade, turned out to be false. The fruits are prominent on their own, while they add a sugar glazed liquorice impression, blending flawlessly in the hot Bourbon and character of the brew.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of blackberry jam with light chocolate notes with some light whiskey notes is very interesting. Taste is a complex mix between sweet blackberry jam with some chocolate notes, some dry roasted malt with vanilla and light whiskey notes. Body is dense with smooth texture and good carbonation with alcohol really not that apparent. Maybe a little too much focus on the blackberry jam notes but a very nice beer nonetheless.
