COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Always on the lookout for the next thing they can throw in a barrel, our brewers actually looked no further than their own backyard for this release – literally. Inspired by the berries they remember first eating from the trees in their yards; this Bourbon County release is full of the dark, spicy, and pleasantly sweet flavors of mulberries, marionberries, and boysenberries. This trio of fruit nicely rounds out the spice and heat of the rye whiskey barrels in which they were aged, resulting in a smooth, jammy stout perfect for sipping on your back porch.

Bottle 650ml (PBF IX)
Dark opaque color, small white head. Roasted, berryish aroma. Full-bodied. Sweet, berryish, boysenberry flavor. Bourbon is not very much present here. Intresting and different variety. Very berryish and quite sweet.

Bottle @ 10K + OT. Thanks, GT. Black in color with a surprising finger or so of tan foam. Really jammy nose. Lots of boysenberry, blackberry, and chocolate. Notes of burnt sugar and fudge, too. Taste is a touch on on the sugary and sweet side. Lots of berry jam. Raspberry, blackberry, and boysenberry notes, chocolate, and vanilla. Light booze. Sort of a booze soaked chocolate cake with berry filling.

Bottle shared by b3shine. Poured hazy reddish brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy dark toasted grain malt, alcohol and vanilla wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark earthy sweet flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a complex standout beer.

Dark brown pour, nice brown head. Flavor has tons of chocolate covered berries and whiskey. Some nice charred oak. Better than bramble.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2014 Bottle in Vail shared with jcnielsen, courtesy of Homer321. Thanks Sean! Pours a deep brown black appearance with a thin dark brown head. Blackberry/cranberry, tangy berry, toffee, chocolate, whiskey aroma. Quite berry fruity, blackberry, raspberry, plum, caramel, chocolate, slightly twangy, whiskey flavor. Kind of boozy and seemingly not as thick as BCS. Pretty good but a slight disappointment.
