Always on the lookout for the next thing they can throw in a barrel, our brewers actually looked no further than their own backyard for this release – literally. Inspired by the berries they remember first eating from the trees in their yards; this Bourbon County release is full of the dark, spicy, and pleasantly sweet flavors of mulberries, marionberries, and boysenberries. This trio of fruit nicely rounds out the spice and heat of the rye whiskey barrels in which they were aged, resulting in a smooth, jammy stout perfect for sipping on your back porch.

Aroma - berry but awful to me. Mouth - viscous Taste - berry forward with bourbon. Surprised at how much less bourbon flavor than the coffee. Appearance - pours dark with finger head. Overall - not sure. Not sure if I just don't like fruit. Bourbon flavor is good. Berry is bad. Can't drink the whole bomber because it's too sweet. Gets much better with time but I might just be getting drunk.

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to Scoopey, 28/11/14. Black with a decent tan covering that soon dissipates edgeward. Nose is rich maltskys, chocolate, woody resonance but not too intense a dose of bourbonics, dark red berry notes. Taste comprises chocolate, raspberry licks, dark maltings, spice, subtle bourbon, red berry linger. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet licks and lightly warming alcohol in the close. Soldi impydom.

Bottle @ dangerous bottleshare 5.0 . Pours black with a brown lacing. Aroma of chocolate, sweet berries, sweet fruit jam, vanilla, dark sweet fruits and cherry sauce. You get the characteristic BC feel in the aroma with some sweet berries added and it blends pretty good actually! The taste is sweet and fruity. I get notes of chocolate, sweet berries, vanilla, dark sweet fruits, a dark fruit jam and that massive BC base! The berries blends very well into the taste. This was very good indeed! Massive and different IMPY.

Bottle split 5 ways as part of Dangerous Bottleshare 5.0. Pitch black with some tan lacings on op. Nose is just insane, some bourbon notes but mostly just juicy berries. Taste is super smooth, sweet, loads of berry notes, some light chocolate. I wanted to hate this but I can’t, super tasty stuff!

Aromas of bourbon, lots of jammy notes, cant really tell the berries from eachother but damn, this smells good! Coffee roast, chocolate, vanilla, fudge. Taste is lots of bourbon, vanilla, berries, jam. Tastes like raspberries, blackberries etc. Pretty strong roast, coffee, light cocoa. This is veryyy nice.

Drank at the magnificent BCBS tasting in Bodegraven 10/1/2015. Best fruity beer out there. Sweet fruit flavours melt perfectly with the typical bourbon county core. Very nice.
