4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Overml01 (225) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - DEC 8, 2012Going back to my notes on this one. It was at the tail end of a local tasting I did with friends from a while back, and the numbers are circled nicely but the writing is a bit vague. "Wow, just awesome... first rye I’ve been blown away by." Not exactly a helpful description. I do remember loving it though.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 brystmar (455) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAY 17, 2013
No head or lace. If you go into this expecting a bourbon-forward stout, you're in for a disappointment. Big berry aroma, brambles galore! Fantastic balance if stout and fruit -- a feat 95% of brewers fail at. This is the second best BCBS variant, close behind 2011 Coffee. Love it.

Almost purple dark brown body. Bourbon, big time, sweet malts, bit of chocolate. Boozy, thick, cereal and rich. Powerful, high quality stuff. Good full body on this one. Perhaps my favourite of the BCS’s. (ZeeBra)

It tastes a lot like normal BCS, but is more red wine-y and seems more subdued and aged.
4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 DoublEE (509) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - APR 9, 2013
I absolutely loved the nose on this, but felt the flavour needed a little more from the base beer and a little more sweetness in the berry notes in order to match the nose. That said, it is still a delicious beer and one I would have again.
