Bottle signed by Grave Digger shared by Chris at RBWG. Pours a dark brown with beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is roast whiskey and rye. Thin mouthfeel with strong roast and very sweet finish.

22 oz. bottle. Rating from notes. Pours a rich, massive, thick black with a small brown head. Aroma of strong bourbon barrel and flirty berries.
Big fruity component, cocoa and dark chocolate, some barrel notes and booze. Delicious booze. Chocolate covered fruit. Sweet, boozy, some sugar, but the berries are upfront, as well as some umami, imparted from the rye. Big and huge on the palate, but not as dominating as other variants, Huge, lush mouthfeel. Finishes with lingering bourbon and chocolate notes. Nice.

Opened at the end of year Ottawa tasting - thanks Boutip. Bottle. Dark brown with a thin brown head. Initial aroma is toffee and then a bucket load of fruit - definitely blackberries, the tartness of some raspberries, seems like more fruit as well - vanilla, bourbon, oak, and as best described by someone else essentially its black forrest cake. Now unfortunately that is not really a cake that I like - and on the palate it seems like a watered down version of BCBS with a bunch of fruit added - more moderate then full bodied with mild carbonation, becomes more thin on the finish and quite sweet. In my opinion not even close to what I would have hoped for...but to each their own :)

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, complex mix of chocolate and pungent coffee resins, light sulfur, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with berries, coffee grind, floral resinous hops, loads of alcohol, very rich. Xmas Ottawa gathering Dec 13 2013.

Pours black and inky, quick fleeting and short lived tan foam. Smells of raspberries, sharp rye whiskey alcohol, bourbon, sweet roasted malts. I’m surprised about the amount of raspberry on the nose, bits of blackberry, but sometimes I feel like I’m convincing myself of this. Tastes like flourless dark chocolate cake/torte with a mixed berry reduction syrup - really, really rich. I shared this with one other person, wish there were two more to share with. Profoundly rich and worthy of complement with a hi end vanilla bean ice cream or a well chilled creme brulee. Full bodied with small carb and a viscous finish. A nicely done beer, but not for me.

Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Eric. Thanks Man!! Pour is pitch black with a small brown head, that quickly dissipated. Big roasty, sweet, somewhat spicy, cinnamon, dark fruity, dark cherries, vanilla, and woody aroma. Taste is dark chocolate, somewhat tangy, dark fruits, red grapes, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, woody, leathery, and toffee. Think syrupy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. This has aged beautifully.

Tasted blind at a horizontal including Vanilla, Rare, Cherry Rye, Bramble Rye, Coffee ’12 and an ’09 Bomber. Poured into a snifter at approx 55 degrees. Reviewed from blind tasting notes. Tasted 2/6, with vanilla in front.
A- Pours like most of the bourbon county variants. No head whatsoever, appears thick with some alcohol legs. No detectable carbonation.
S- You can smell a syrupy quality right as well, slightly medicinal mixed with fruit. In addition, some barrel cuts through and mixes with the syrup as well as some chocolate and bourbon.
T- Fruit, notably raspberry. Some barrel characteristics as well as some port-like quality. Syrupy with some tartness from the raspberry. Not as much barrel character as the previous variant.
M- A little bit thinner than the vanilla, but obviously still extremely thick, and some tannins from the barrel.
O- Decent, but nothing to bust your butt trying to trade for. Tons of fruit character, which is nice, although I prefer the regular old BCBS more. This was correctly identified by everyone at the tasting, and rated 5/6.

On tap at 312 block party. Poured black with min tan ring. Cherryish fruit choc aroma. Quite smooth tingly feel. Bitter fruit taste. Nice.

Freetail mega bottle. Are us big figs, berries, blackberry licorish. Taste is smooth raspberry black licorish silky malt. Finish is very smooth.

Pours black with low-medium brown head. Some lacing. Aroma is of roasted malt, bourbon, fruits, alcohol. Taste is of alcohol, bourbon, sweet, chocolate, fruits, bitterness, acid. Palate: Full bodied. Somewhat sticky. Overall: Very good. A tad heavily harsh. Lots of alcohol in there: a sipper.
