COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewers love experimenting with their beer almost as much as they love drinking it. This unique blend, aged in rye whiskey barrels with loads of whole Michigan cherries, is the one they are proud to finally let you share with your friends at home – or not. After your first sip, you’ll agree, this beer has some real stones.

22oz bottle. Poured a black color with brown edges and a small sized tan head. Aromas of wood, dark cherries, vanilla, chocolate, and roast. Tastes of cherries (more than the aromas), vanilla, chocolate, roast, woody, and bourbon. Medium alcohol in the finish.

Bottle. The pour is dark with only a lacing, which holds true of the family. The aroma has faint tart cherry with only a hint of bourbon. The cherry comes through more in the taste. A dark tart cherry taste. Probably my least favorite BCBS, but it is an overall high standard. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shared bomber with jimmeekrek. Thanks! Spicy rye aroma and some booze. 9 month old bottle. Cherry is subtle. Sweet and a little spicy. Very nice

GTMW - Madisons This is a big sweet BCS with a slightly tart lightly sour cherry aroma. The tartness of the cherries cut through the big sweetness of the BCS. There is some light wood and spice notes that are likely from the Rye. The tiny tartness in the finish made this my favorite BCS yet.

Bottle shared by rschnake...thanks Rob! - Pours dark brown/black with a thin tan head. nose is sweet and bourbony with just a hint of cherry--dark, malty and sweet. Taste is real smooth and sweet, with a bit of bourbon and dark malt. Tons of cherries on the finish--pie cherries with vanilla. Yum. Slick and thick in the mouth. THIS is what I want Central Waters Cherry Stout to be.

It seems like so long ago that I took these notes, I was saving this one for my 100th Imperial Stout, which is chill... but I guess I thought I would get to 100 Imperial Stouts faster than I did.

Pours black with a small head, that like always does with bourbon county sort of diminishes into that wispy littleness.

The aroma is chocolate, some fudge, some spicy alcohol, some vanilla, pungent & sweet, remarkable but without a huge cherry character in the nose.

The flavor is sweet, with plenty of nice rich cherry flavor which matches well with the chocolate and roastiness, there is a fairly nice level of warming and spicy alcohol notes, which I would have expected to be terrible with the cherry flavor but it works pretty harmoniously here. Of course bourbon is a big flavor here with lots of woody, vanilla, & whiskey character going on.

This & Coffee have been my clear favorites in the Bourbon County series.

22oz bomber pours motor oil black with a thin brown head. Roasted malt bourbon oak aroma. Sweet cherry taste up front that fades to a vanilla oak taste. Great beer

Big cherry pie, vanilla, and rye. Molasses, spices, roasted malt, chocolate, and licorice. Some oak, booze, and a light tartness.

Bottle with friends courtesy of Armin. Thanks man!! Pour is deep, viscous black with a small brown head that quickly dissipated. Big rasins, figs, prunes, roasty, light cocoa, dark cherries, a touch of coffee, molasses, and leathery aroma. Taste is big roasty, tart cherry, light bourbon, woody, dark chocolate, dark fruits, leather, earthy, and coconut with a touch of alcohol burn on the backend. Thick/syrupy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Dark chocolate covered cherries and the alcohol is hidden beautifully and the barrel doesn’t dominate. Nice stuff!
