4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Ive reached my 100th rating and might as well be a crazy brew like this. Pours your classic imperial stout motor oil cover with almost no head. The aroma was a bit muted for me, but that may have been because it was sitting out in below freezing weather all day. Little acidity and faint cherry sent but thats about it. The flavor makes up for the shortcomings of the nose in a big way. Incredibly full bodied with a sweet chocolatey backbone with a slight roastiness, which is brought full circle with a sour acidic cherry taste. The cherries are not overwhelming but simply compliment the flavor of the beer. The character this beer has matured into from the rye whiskey barrels is just perfect. Very well rounded and exceptionally done by Goose Island. Cheers!

2/23/13. 22oz bottle during RBWG thanks to csteele2144! Rich black pour with a nice tan head. Rich aroma, plenty of tasty BA and LOTS of cherry. Almost a spicy cherry fudge aspect in a way. Slightly sweet flavor with plenty of BA, cherry, and a touch of spice and booze. Really good!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at RBWG. Nose of cherry, oak, booze. The cherry and the rye are quite overwhelmed by the booze. Not my favorite bourbon county variety.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Several 22oz bottles over the past several months.
Pours black, light tan-colored head, thin ring around the glass. Nose is smooth bourbon, oak, chocolate, and a nice amount of tart cherries. Flavor is sweet & smooth bourbon & chocolate, oak, and lots of cherries. The alcohol is really well-hidden for such a "fresh" beer and clocking in at almost 14%. Body is full, rich & smooth, creamy finish.
Yet another well-done Bourbon County Brand Stout variant, and Iím not all that surprised. Looking forward to see how this develops over the years, even though itís drinking wonderfully right now.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Location/Date:Bottle on February 17, 2013.
Appearance: Pours dark black with light brown head.
Aroma: Aroma of cherries, light rye, light whiskey, roast.
Taste: Chocolate, some cherry, faint roast, faint rye.
Palate:Medium body, slick, lingering aftertaste.
Summary: I didnít realize how hard this was to find, even when I saw a bottle for $45 at The Perfect Pour(that I did not buy). Really good imperial stout, the cherry adds a nice variation that often isnít used(kind of like how I enjoyed the mint chocolate Stone imperial stout). Really nice stuff.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Probably the best balanced BCS variant Iíve had. Pours black, slight tan head, thick, lots of legs. Aroma is chocolate, sweet, slight roast, a hint of cherry. Body is where this thing takes hold. Itís not too sweet, with a good hint of cherry, and the rye is just a slight note. Itís super well balanced. Less sweet than any BCS Iíve had, really easy to sip, or roll around in your mouth. Excellent beer. I wonder what GI will come up with next.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Shelf turds here in Vermont. Grabbed a few of them. Bottle 18xx.
A - Pours still just a small lacing. Midnight oily black
S - Tons of vanilla and bourbon and oak with some big dark chocolate and heavy bourbon nose
T - Taste is heavy on this tart acidic taste with loads of bourbon. The whiskey is actually hidden and less powerful than standard í12 bcbs and I think this is because of the sweetness imparted by the Cherries. Rye is not pronounced and very hard to pick up.
M - heavy body, low carbonation
O - This is exceptionally balanced and tastes great now. No idea how this will change over time
