Served on tap at Cannery Row Brewing Company in Monterey, CA. Pours jet black with a faint coffee colored head. Aroma is all bourbon and cherries with dark malts, anise, molasses, and toffee. Flavor is boozy, sweet malt and cherries up front with a moderately hoppy, spicy trail-off. Hints of pepper and cinnamon. Thick, creamy mouth feel with moderate carbonation. This is a huge brew, but the cherries and booze give me too much of a cough syrup vibe. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Typical Bourbon County Stout appearance. Rich, thick, black. Small tan head that fades rapidly. The aroma does indeed bring the beautiful scent of cherries, followed by the rich, roasted malt and chocolate of the regular version. The cherry really pops in the flavor. Simply fabulous. Not too sweet or syrupy. I could drink a bottle by myself. Not cloying in the least. Smooth on the palate with low carbonation. Gentle warming finish. Outstanding!

Just a perfect beer. Cherry is much more prominent on the flavor than the aroma. The spiciness from the rye comes through fantastic. Overall the beer tastes like a chocolate cherry cake. Phenomenal to say the least

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2013 On tap at Local Option. Pour is black with a small tan head, sticky, viscous. Aroma is very heavy on the vanilla with notes of cherry, dark wood, and dark sweet fruit. Big body with light-medium light carbonation. Dark black cherry, chocolate, and a hint of bourbon and vanilla in the finish. Chewy, dense. Aroma is all vanilla, flavor is all cherries. Alcohol is well hidden but its definitely there, a bit of burn in the finish.

On tap at bavarian lodge. Black pour, minimal tan head. Aroma of smooth malt and sour cherry. Taste is sour cherry mixed with bourbon county. They compliment each other fantstically but i still like regular abd coffee much better.

65cl, at 13.7%Vol, new exclusive American brew Anno 2012, with cherries, from De Hopduvel Gent, very complex Stout, roasted/fruity and slightly alcoholic/woody, not too heavy, very balanced, hazy, nearly no head, top class!, yet very expensive, WOW!

22oz bottle pours a viscous, opaque black with some thin, beige head. Nose is really nice, that classic Bourbon County aroma, vanilla, coffee, licorice, caramel, cake icing. The nose also has this great complimenting fruit, cherry candy, cherry cordial, a little cough syrup, red wine reduction. Flavor has a ton of sweet cherry, it almost tastes like New Glarus Belgian Red blended 50/50 with Bourbon County Stout, a little cough syrup, chocolate, coffee, caramel. Full, sticky, sweet finish. Do not age this, the cherry will just fall out. Incredibly drinkable and very, very tasty.
