bottle shared by a friend. poured a dark black oily colour with a 2 sec lasting mocha coloured head. lotís of lacing on the side of the glass. your classic bourbon county aroma, bit less of the bourbon hit as the regular (could also be because of the rye barrel instead of the bourbon) dark chocolate, lotís of roasted goodness, on the back there is a cherry sweetness. vanilla. taste is like a cherry soaked in bourbon and chocolate, itís complex and itís not that the cherry takes over the entire beer. bourbon-ish booze, whisky, raisins, licorice, amazing version

"ABV amped up even a tiny bit more than older varieties, so the chocolate, booze and pruney sweetness are pretty up front and center. Thereís vanilla too, and the cherry sneaks up on you with little blasts of tart, then rolls back to whiskey, then chocolate. Very complex, delicious as expected...though Iíll still take a Rare, Bramble or Coffee :)"

22oz bomber shared by Pineypower! Thanks Dean! Poured black with almost no head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, leather, roasted malt, and a hint of black cherry. Taste of sweet and tart cherries, dark chocolate, roasted malt, bourbon barrel, and some rye spice in the finish. Super complex! Sooo good!!

Bottled @ Zeebra #2. 5cl sample. The aroma has cherries, some vanilla, roast. Black coloured beer with a thin, off-white head. The taste is light-moderate bitter, bit sweet, has roast, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and a subtle fruity cherry taste. Medium-full bodied. Very nice!

2012 bottle poured on 7/20/14. aroma: smells just like regular bcbs at this point--i.e., great, but no cherry or rye flavor. appearance: motor oil with quickly dissipating tan head. taste: sweet cherry background as the bitter oak, sweet vanilla, chocolate, marshmallow, and just a tinge of soy swirl in the mouth to the delicious cola-flavored end. palate: heavyweight, of course; syrupy with pretty great carbonation for being almost two years old.

At my place with Matt, Kristin, Jake, Jacob and Taylor. Pours black with almost no head. Aroma is full fantastic cherry and bourbon, smooth sweet roasted malt. Taste is awesome cherry bourbon, rye barrel, some nice booze that goes with the rest of the beer. Fantastic, maybe the best fruited stout I have had.

Pours black like oil with tan head. Cherry, coconut, cocoa, and roast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes like a cherry almond joy.

Pitch black pour. Smells of wood and slight cherry and chocolate. Taste is unreal: coconut, cherries, slight booze. Phenomenal beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
