Vintage 2012. On tap at Romans, thousand dollar sixth barrel style (grr). Dark brown with a thin brown crown. Aroma is nice with cherry, bourbon, maple, oak, chocolate and caramel. Taste is sweet and smooth with vanilla, cherry, oak, tobacco, spice, faint rye, caramel and some booze.

Bottle shared with hamilton23. Pours pitch black, with a dense brown head. Nose is cherry, vanilla, fruit, coffee, smoke. Flavor is dominated by cherries; also roast, chocolate, caramel, vanilla. Medium to full bodied. Ends with a slightly bitter flavor mixed with cherry sweetness. Drank this on the same night as Proprietors and thought they were comparably good.

Brown with some scattered bubbles, standard BCBS appearance. Smells of cherry, booze, cola and bitter chocolate. flavor is straight cough syrup addition to a BCBS base with some slightly tart notes. Not special, not enjoyed. Moderately sharp carb with a dry finish. Thanks, but nothing I dig, and only one of the six at the table enjoyed it.

Sat on this for a year in my cellar. Dark black pour with no head. Aroma is cherries, alcohol and chocolate. Taste is cherries, chocolate malt, sweetness-like a chocolate cherry cordial. The alcohol is balanced by the sweetness of the beer. Very tasty after a year(10 days short) from bottling.

Bomber pour shared at porter/stout fest..eagerly anticipating popping this open and sampling the goods..black as night pour typical of all bourbon county offerings..aroma is sublime..the bourbon is there..cherry is on the periphery..vanilla..oak..sort of like a cross of bourbon county infused with cherry Garcia..wow is all one has to say when tasting this beer..everyone who sampled was blown away by how complex this was..tastes of slight espresso..cold pressed coffee..quality chocolate covered cherries..bourbon backbone..mouthfeel is super intense and produces wave after wave of flavor that really is hard to describe..I thought that 2012 bcbcs was hard to beat but I think the cherry has that little extra sumpin sumpin to put this ahead..really amazed by how good this beer was and it had no medicinal overly done cherry action..the cherry was amazingly well done and intertwined into the already great base of bourbon county stout..really hard to find anything wrong here..booze does hit slightly on last finish after being led on the cherry bourbon coaster of tastes that gets better..leaves a great coating on the palate..oh so good..glad to share this rare treat and even happier to have another bottle to hang on and see what happens with a bit more cellaring..first perfect rating...fantastic offering..well done GI..
