4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 realaledrinker (35) - Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, USA - DEC 24, 2012Pours dark with a thin tan head. The aroma is whiskey and roasted. My nose does not pick up the cherries. Great mouthfeel with tastes of bourbon, chocolate, cherries, and oak all coming through and blended well together. The cherries are a great addition to this already great stout. Very well done by Goose Island. Breaks my heart to give props to In-bev.

Pours a dark black with a thin malty, red tint. Aroma is fantastic. Bourbon, malt, chocolate and tons is cherry. Taste is much the same and excellent! One of the most original tasting beers I’ve had. Palate is similar. As the beer warms it has even more intense flavors. Cherries seem to dominate the flavors. Glad to have had such a rare beer!

NYC Trip Beer #10. The bottle list at the Guilty Goose rolled deep. Split the bottle four ways with my wife and some friends we had met for drinks. Poured nearly black with a touch of red. The Cherry flavor permeates and perfectly balances this imperial stout. This beer would be fantastic as a desertif; I would love to use it as such at some future dinner party (if I can ever find it again). Bottle - Guilty Goose - New York, NY

Actually prefer regular BCBS and BCBCS over this one. I didn’t think the cherry flavor matched well with the rest of the beer.

From a 22oz bottle - not sure who brought this based on my notes. Poured a black color, light tan-colored head. Aroma was roasted malts, smooth bourbon, vanilla, oak, chocolate - lots of tart cherries. Flavor reminds me of canned cherries - syrup notes. Alcohol is there, but for almost 14% - it does get masked more than I expected it would. Pretty tasty!

This is a default message... As I do not wish, nor have time to comment on each beer I try at this time.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a small, fizzy light tan head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is cherry, roast and chocolate malt with spicy rye. Flavor is sweet malt and cherry with spicy rye and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

Draft at Cannery Row Brewing. Nose is chocolate covered cherries, bourbon, oak, vanilla, and extra cherries. Pitch black with a virtually nonexistent head. (Did Tommie at Lost Abbey brew this?) Flavor is cherries, chocolate, and light bourbon from the syrupy body. Excellent!

17th April 2013 Stouts III Tasting. Thanks to Bruce for this belter! Almost opaque dark brown beer, little tan head. Palate is smooth and slightly viscous with fine carbonation. Sweetish dark chocolate with a little aniseed and spice. Malt cream. Lovely morello cherry, not too sweet. Little rye spice. Touches of marzipan and almond. Finishes sweet and mildly spicy. Lovely!

Bottle @ ZeeBra Extreme Beer Festival 2013. Pitch black pour. Aroma is roasty, cherries, fruity, smooth and burnt. Flavor is slightly sour, sweet, quite bitter, roasted, a bit messy. One of the lesser Bourbon County brews, but still great.
