4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a very deep brown with s slight red tint and a small tan head. Aroma was of freshly roasted coffee, chocolate, slight cherry, and bourbon. Taste was almost identical to regular bourbon county. Didn’t get much coffee and I thought I would judging by the aroma. Still very good and had a nice warming bourbon feel to it. Body was full and oily. Would love to get to have this again.

2014 vintage, bottled. Jet black with a small, light brown head. Aroma is heavy with dark chocolate with an earthy, roasted coffee base. There is a bit of green tea leaf under the coffee, accentuating the earthiness. Smooth chocolate flavor with a touch of nutty toasted pecan and rum raisin. Softly carbonated. Dang tasty.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A 2014 bottle. It pours a solid black with a tan head and lacing. It has a great coffee aroma with a bourbon background. The flavor is similar, with rich, toasty malt up front and a great bourbon backbone over a thick, heavy body.

12oz bottle from trade - hat right off to thrashD for hooking me up. Pours jet black, good old used motor oil, small ring of head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of dry roasted peanuts, chocolate, vanilla, some light bourbon booze, lightly roasted coffee beans. Lightly carbonated, just right. Deep roasted sweetness, some milky vanilla latte, some soy sauce, salt, roasted cacao, espresso, Nutella, charred meat, tiramisu... crazy range of sweet, roasty flavours. Fantastic.

Draft @ Harry’s Hofbrau RWC on 1/9/15. Aroma of predominantly coffee with booze, hints of roasted malt and vanilla. Pleasant mouthfeel and tastes of coffee, roasted malt, bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla. Very solid for the style…could drink several more of these.

2014 Bottle. Unbelievable coffee smell, thick pour no head, tons of sweet (but not too sweet) coffee flavor. Overall my favorite beer of any category.

Bottle from Kevin, thank you very much, 2012 version with La Tortuga coffee.
Pours a viscous, black color, with a small, soon fading head.
The aromas got a hot Bourbon burn to them, wrapped up into slightly bitter, earthy coffee, with lots of bakers chocolate, molasses and toffee. The coffee acts outstandingly well with the wooden, vanilla accentuated, hot Bourbon, blending flawlessly into the rich, creamy base of the beer. Nontheless, the Bourbon stands out on itself quite well and is even more noteable than the coffee.
Drinks incredible smooth, not particularly creamy, but outstandingly silk, with calming, earthy notes to it, providing an intriguing interplay between milk chocolate and slightly sticky toffee. The Bourbon is big in this, without getting too boozy at any point, while producing a pleasant, oaken warmth with vanilla notes in it, complimenting to the slightly bitter coffee, as well as the scorched, earthy malts and sweet milk chocolate. The coffee becomes visible on the palate, paired with slick caramel and cocoa nibs, while a wooden earthiness adds to the subtle coffee sting, resulting from the harmonious, convenient integrated Bourbon. Finishes with sweeter toffee, as well as molasses and hints of coffee, while smooth, slightly sweeter milk chocolate represents the foundation of this beer.
