4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle pours thick jet black with tan head. Aroma is nice. Strong chocolate and bourbon. I could smell this all day and night. Just wonderful. Flavor is what you expect from bourbon county. The chocolate, coffee notes, and that wonderful bourbon note. A touch of soy in there as well. The bourbon is smoother than the regular version. Just outstanding.

Bottle # 2439. Joan Jett black pour with a tiny off white head. Holy bourbon batman, what a freakin’ nose... Insane molasses, toffee, chocolate, and vanilla flavors blend perfectly with the silky smooth king of bourbons (PVW) and the rich roasted malts. Great body. I can’t imagine this bad mutha after a couple years in cellar..........

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours black as black can be. The aroma just explodes with oak, chocolate, toast, sour mash corn, and spice. The flavor is amazing. Toasted oak, vanilla, chocolate, licorice, white pepper, and a hint of of dark fruit.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Brought back from Happy Harry’s bottleshop in Grand Forks, ND. Pours opaque black, thin but persistent dark tan head, spotty to poor lacing. Nose is MASSIVE coconut, huge vanilla, so MUCH Bourbon character! Really, this is as intimidating now as when I first had Bourbon County Original all those years ago Big berryish dark fruit lurks under the toffee/vanilla/butterscotch/coconut layers. Goddamn but this smells like a punch in the balls! Flavours of bourbon, vanilla, creamy toast, butter, cocoa nibs, milk chocolate, big oak. Phenomenal beer. Really in a class of itself!

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours black with a thin brown head. Looks great. Aroma is amazing! Huge bourbon aroma mingling with classic stout aroma. Oh, my god that tastes amazing. Oak. Chocolate bourbon. Roasted malt. It jargon and burly and woody. Vanilla comes through as well. The flavour never stops. It lingers for ever and is amazing. I love it. This is one of the most amazing beers I have ever had. Its pushing the flavour envelope and blowing my mind.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
5 oz pour.
It pours a dense black with a fizzy head that dissipates before I even get it.
The smell here is richer and smoother than the average BCS. This is partially due to the extra aging, but also the bourbon barrels used. It has all of the traditional BCS traits: thick bourbon, barrel, chocolate, and roast. However, there is an added almost woodsy-spiciness that is unique to this version.
The flavor follows. It has that hint of spiciness that takes regular BCS to a different level. It is smoother, and richer. The aging has allowed it to mature to perfection. The drinkability here is much greater than the average BCS.
This one is overpriced, but it is a great experience. An outstanding beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled sample via Savvy1982, shared with him and oakbluff. Jet black in colour with moderate carbonation. Intense aromas of cereal grain, bourbon, and roasted malts. Flavours are of vanilla, milk chocoalte, high quality bourbon, muslix cereal, caramel, and black licorice. Slick and slightly boozy on the palate. An intense yet somehow balanced brew.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared at the 5,000 party. Poured a viscous black body underneath a small deep beige foamy head. Aroma was awesome, although boozy, with notes of vanilla, bourbon, choclate, wood, tobacco a touch of smoke. Flavor of bourbon, vanilla, fudge, chocolate, wood and tobacco. Awesomely perfect body with a super smooth and creamy mouthfeel along with a touch of alochol heat that brings just enough to liven up the palate along with soft carbonation that dances on your tongue. Simply exquisite but I feel this one might actually get even better with time.

(shared at RBWG 2011-Phoenix! and courtesy of Alpar). Pours black and thick like oil. Aroma is a rich bourbony goodness. Sweet wlit a little hot taste and some chocolate notes. Full bodied with slick texture. Had side by side with the 5050 Eclipse PVW and Rare was a bit better, imo.
