4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle shared by Steve - thanks, Iíve been wanting to try this one. Shared San Diego style, in the parking lot of a baseball game. Pours dark black with minimal head. Nose is vanilla and bourbon. Taste is very sweet vanilla, bourbon, dark fruit (I could swear I tasted raspberry). Balanced. Full bodied and smooth. Probably the best beer Iíve ever tried.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Jet black thick pour with virtually no brown head, smells of molasses, malt,
vanilla extract and of course the bourbon barrel, thick texture, a sweet bread, complex with many flavors, only negative is that it is a concentrate type of composition.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by colonelforbin. Thanks Mike. Pours a pitch black with a small light chocolate head settles to a ring and leaves some light lacing on the glass. The aroma is heavenly with big vanilla, oak, chocolate brownie, bourbon, and some light cherry as well as a bit of nuttiness. The taste is sweet with hazlenut, cherry, vanilla, bourbon, and chocolate brownie. The finish has quite a bit of alcohol as well as a light astringency and leaves some lingering oak on the palate. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel with low carbonation. This is a very good beer, but I find it to be a little be too sweet and boozy for me.

On draft at the GTMW. Pours Black with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and molasses. Flavor is a perfect balance of the above. Iíve waited for awhile to try this one and I was not disappointed. One of the smoothest Imperial stouts Iíve ever had.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle. Thank you very much @ RasmusOtt. Pours pitch black with an almost non existent brown espresso head. Aroma: Filled chocolates (Anthon Berg style) heaps of bourbon, coconut, toffee, vanilla, oaky, quite boozy, salt liquorice, lakridskonfekt, molasses, butterscotch, woody notes, salty caramel, liquorice, espresso, tiramisu, ovenbaked figs, matroshatte, chocolate, light peppery. Taste: Creamy smooth mouthfeel, Iím quite suprised how carbonated this is, Quite heavy alcohol burn, loads of bourbon, vanilla, oaky, woody notes, sweet liquorice, matroshatte, loads of dried fruits, prunes, figs, raisins, plums, and some other fruityness, dark berries, cherry sauce, candied orange peel, quite sweet, but never too much, you keep on going back to this finding new aromas and flavors, itís so complex. thereís some roasted bitterness, some acidity, long tingly sensation in the aftertaste and some alcohol burn, quite dry palate. this is amazing!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared with my Texas buddy Andy. Poured a pitch black with an aromatic brown head. Nose of serious bourbon and malts. Loads of vanilla, charcoal and dark chocolate. Huge ever present aromas, Taste of sweet chocolate and a woody bourbon coat the tongue. Big malts and toffee, with all of the aroma flavors added melds into a nice finish. Viscous body, oily, and soft carbonation. Mmmm - nice stuff....serous buzz.

4.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
pours motor oil with thin tan head from 22oz bottle. Nose is of vanilla, bourbon, coffee. Palate is thick and full, with not much of a linger. Perfect. Sweet coffee, mocha, boubon taste. Little to no burn but there is warmth. Probably the most well blended beer Iíve had. There is no dount that this beer is special.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: OCT 1, 2012 Iíll try to be as impartial here as I can possibly beónot taking into account the fact that this beer is probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It pours jet black and develops no head, and it immediately assaults you with the most powerful aroma youíll ever delight your nostrils with. God Almighty! Just opening the bottle confers the air around you that unforgettable smell. Itís a cannonade of decadent, sweet notes like youíve never felt them before: fudge, dark and milk chocolates, supertanker-loads of vanilla, unholy amounts of wood, cake, crŤme Chantilly, and plenty of bourbon, all complemented by a nice, rich buttery touch. The barrel notes are so overpowering that thereís barely any roast coming through, or even alcohol. The taste is very much what the aroma suggests: VERY sweet and bourbony, not boozy at all, and not terribly bitter. The mouthfeel is creamy, buttery, smooth, and extremely elegant. Iím usually a fan of more bitter, coffee-infused stouts, and this is so sweet that it borders on being a dessert. But as far as desserts in liquid form go, they just donít get much better. If you have the chance to drink it, do so on a special occasion. Sip it and share it, even though itís so smooth and delicious that you might actually be physically capable of downing an entire bottle by yourself. Jesus H. Christ!

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle #2,516. Pours an oily black with a very thin tan head. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, wood, molasses, chocolate and slight alcohol. Flavor is much the same. The bourbon flavor shines through, but is not as sharp as the original BCS...all of the flavors here are much more well-rounded and balanced. Also, it seems as if the beer has picked up alot more of the tanin from the barrels. Was a little reluctant to spend so much on one bottle, but glad I did! This is truly an amazing beer.
