Sample at the Bourbon County tasting, De Molen. Poured a deep mahogany with a frothy broken tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, vanilla, light alcohol liqourice. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a smooth, rich sweet roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, woody, alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation and a rich oily mouthfeel. Superb!

650ml bottle shared at home, thanks Thanasis!! Black color with beige head. Aroma is full of vanilla, light chocolate, wood, bourbon - alcoholic. Taste is sweet, same as the aroma, vanilla chocolate and bourbon alcoholic. Medium to full, silky sticky body with soft carbonation and alcoholic coconut finish.

Pours a dark black brown with a slight medium brown head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of light cocoa, vanilla, bourbon booze, toasted nuts, light coconut. Definitely all well melded together. This is the aged bourbon county I have grown to know but with a light amount of vanilla. Tried this side by side with vanilla rye and they are totally different beers. This one has mellowed out while the rye is bold.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Pours a thicker black with a brown head of foam. The aroma has subdued vanilla, bourbon, toffee, fudge, cake. The taste is sweet bourbon, vanilla, chocolate. Great stuff! Thick mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. This beer is great, and hopefully the new vanilla rye turns into this in a couple years.

Bottle from Dale, thanks! Pours black with a minimal brown head, no retention at all. Aroma has bourbon, dark chocolate, liquorice and slight alcohol. Taste is bourbon heavy with dark chocolate, cherry liquor praline, sweetness (no distinct vanilla), dark tobacco, slight alcohol heat. Full body, soft carbonation, silky smooth. Short chocolate bitter after taste with slight heat.
Another "legendary" Bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stout , very well balanced but didn’t blow me away. Still, glad to have had it.
