Had at a tasting with BCS 09, BCVS, BCCS, and BCSR. Pours thick and black. The aroma that hits you is that of bourbon, chocolate, and molasses. Rather than the normal vanilla notes that I got with BCS, this is definitely more vanilla bean. I really thought that this beer was going to be vanila overkill but damn it is done right. The vanilla bean is such a compliment to the beer.

Small pour at Mikkeller bar. Thanks alot to the australian guy in the bar giving me this! Lovely beer. Smooth, vanilla bourbon, rich stout notes. Well done!(Short review due to the massive amounts of beer I drank during the CBC13.)

@ Zeebra Extreme beer festival Pitch black color, no foam at all. Aroma is full of vanilla...strong vanilla. Some alcohol at the beginning but a very smooth vanilla aftertaste. Excellent beer.

Black with a small virtually non existent head. Vanilla dominates. This is a very powerful beer with a great presence. Drink and respect.

Sampled @ omhper, thanks. A mighty sipping beer with everything. A fine vanilla - chocolate and a tuch of whiskey aroma that also exist in the taste. Full bodied and good bitterness.

Great beer. Black pour with little head. Smells of chocolate, caramels, honey, vanilla bean, bourbon whiskey, malt. The vanilla smell was less than I expected, but it was there in the taste. Wow! Very alcohol heavy, in a good way. Creamy mouthfeel. A great experience!

Sample from a bottle at Cam’s BCBS tasting. Good, dark, nearly opaque black color. Some clear brown around the edges. Super good vanilla aroma. Marshmallow, brownies, all that good stuff. Decent bit of lace, even. Long, vanilla brownie-cocoa marshmallow aftertaste. Great medium bitter taste, light sweet. Light, nice warmth. Light alcohol burn - very light, not really minding it at all. Good big chewier body. Very light carbonation. Lighter viscosity in the finish, but also an alcoholic dryness too. Sweet, but I love the intense vanilla flavor. It’s intensely sweet in a vanilla way. Which makes for a decadent sipper.

Backlog. Enjoyed this at a recent Beer Tasting in Feb. Aroma: Vanilla (surprise!!) Appearance: Dark, black pour with minimal lacing Taste: Good Lord have mercy. It was one of the most fabulous experiences with beer I’ve ever had Palate: Full bodied, creamy finish that leaves you wanting more Overall: It’s at the top of my "wants" and I’d easily trade many, if not most, beers in my cellar for another bottle

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2013 Bottle...for my birthday! The pour is similar to that of regular bcbs, very dark. The aroma has nice bourbon nose full and the vanilla comes out as well. Seems like age as done this well. The taste is amazing. The bourbon is smooth with a nice vanilla hint to it, an excellent compliment. Not overpowering, just flat our smoothness. I am very impressed.

Bomber courtesy of AndySnow. 2010 vintage. Such great generosity, have never met the man and yet he sends me a Christmas present containing a bottle of this beast. Pours blacker than black with a thin fizzy dark chocolate brown head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace worth mentioning. Smell is huge, sweet and malty with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, roasted coconut, bourbon, high quality dark chocolate, sweetened dark roast coffee, vanilla beans, toffee, alcohol and hints of peppery hops. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and malty with roasted malts, high quality dark chocolate, vanilla beans, creamy toffee, bourbon, coconut, vanilla fudge, minerals, wood, oily pine and sweet liquorice candy. Mouthfeel is soft, silky, creamy, boozy and full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla fudge, bourbon, toffee, alcohol and vanilla beans. A great smooth and creamy beer. Very happy to have tried this. Thank you Andy!
