4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2013 Bomber courtesy of AndySnow. 2010 vintage. Such great generosity, have never met the man and yet he sends me a Christmas present containing a bottle of this beast. Pours blacker than black with a thin fizzy dark chocolate brown head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace worth mentioning. Smell is huge, sweet and malty with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, roasted coconut, bourbon, high quality dark chocolate, sweetened dark roast coffee, vanilla beans, toffee, alcohol and hints of peppery hops. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and malty with roasted malts, high quality dark chocolate, vanilla beans, creamy toffee, bourbon, coconut, vanilla fudge, minerals, wood, oily pine and sweet liquorice candy. Mouthfeel is soft, silky, creamy, boozy and full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla fudge, bourbon, toffee, alcohol and vanilla beans. A great smooth and creamy beer. Very happy to have tried this. Thank you Andy!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted at Goose Island Southern Migration. Reminds me of classic Bourbon County, but dominated by vanilla. Least favorite of all the Bourbon County Variants. Its like Ringo, in that, its still a damn Beatle. Bottle - The Argosy - Atlanta, GA

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, slight alcohol, and roasted malt. Smells absolutely fantastic. Taste starts off with a ton of vanilla flavor and chocolate. The bourbon flavors of the base beer aren’t as strong, but they do blend it well with the vanilla. Mouthfeel is sticky and thick. Sharp alcohol bite after each sip. The vanilla didn’t come off as overpowering, it just made the base beer even better. Just perfect!!!

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Inky black body with almost no head at all on the pour - just a timid, light-tan ring that outlines the edge. Aroma has the Bourbon County sweet signature bourbon, oak, & melty chocolate, only this time there’s more of a sweet, vanilla saccharine presence, rather than just your normal barrel vanillin. Brown sugar, molasses... lots of bourbon. All the usual Bourbon County suspects are there. Taste is much the same; heavy bourbon with a mixture of sweet vanilla, brown sugar, dense cocoa fudge, & mild oaky tannins throughout. It’s very warm... almost hot, even, & maybe more so than some vintages of the original Bourbon County. More bourbon, vanilla, & some deep fudge in the finish. Huge, sticky, thick mouth feel. Very nice, awesome take on BCS, although I don’t believe it’s worth what it takes to get a bottle now.

Bottle gift from SJ , Goose Island night. Another winner from this brewery. Can’t believe it is retired as we had two bottles?
Nice roasted, vanilla, nut, Earth and chcolate flavors. Well blended with a nice strong vanilla bean and honey finish.
