UPDATED: JUN 26, 2013 Bomber courtesy of AndySnow. 2010 vintage. Such great generosity, have never met the man and yet he sends me a Christmas present containing a bottle of this beast. Pours blacker than black with a thin fizzy dark chocolate brown head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace worth mentioning. Smell is huge, sweet and malty with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, roasted coconut, bourbon, high quality dark chocolate, sweetened dark roast coffee, vanilla beans, toffee, alcohol and hints of peppery hops. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and malty with roasted malts, high quality dark chocolate, vanilla beans, creamy toffee, bourbon, coconut, vanilla fudge, minerals, wood, oily pine and sweet liquorice candy. Mouthfeel is soft, silky, creamy, boozy and full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla fudge, bourbon, toffee, alcohol and vanilla beans. A great smooth and creamy beer. Very happy to have tried this. Thank you Andy!

Bomber: Thanks Theydon: Served in a large taster: Black beer. Small brown head. Intense thick rich sticky aroma of soy, bourbon, vanilla, liquorice, sweet tar, sweet roast, chalky, Flavour is immense, jesus christ (and I am not even religious) this is goood))) Intense, seductive, thick, fullfilment, rich, completely out of this world! So viscous, uber balanced sweet tints... Amazing! Roasty, bourbon, fudge, dark candy, alcohol, etc... Ridiculous! Aftertaste was roasty, chocolate, fudge, bourbon, bitter, etc. So delicious! Low carbo, silky mouthfeel, full bodied... What an enjoyment what an enlightment... Amazing!

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2015 Sample at Rare Day. Aroma is much like regular, sweet malt, vanilla, nice. Appearance is black, brown head, thick. Taste is sweet malt, some booze, vanilla on the back end. Mouthfeel is thick, great carbonation, wonderful. Overall, this is very impressive, but I am sure it fell off slightly from it’s former glory.

Bottled 11.05.10. Mocha head quickly dissipates. Explosive malt, syrupy chocolate, hickory, decadent dark chocolate mousse cake. Tannins are low key, but add character/complexity. Not just mouth coating, but body numbing after a couple sips. Vanilla character shows no alcohol presence a fresh addition would show or especially an extract. Drinks more like a wine, slow sipper, enjoying the experience.

From notes. Shared at a BCBS tasting put on by Brian Winters. Thanks! This was just amazing. Thick oily black pour with a dark khaki colored ring and no lace. The aroma is the only fault, just because you can pick up that this one is a little older. The natural vanilla is a bit faded, but I like it over the sweetness of the Vanilla Rye. I like it a bit better, but I do wish that the vanilla was a little more prominent. The other flavors are there. Molasses, dark roast, heavy dark fruit, and just a hint of faded vanilla bean. The flavor is where this makes up so much awesome ground. It’s like BCBS with a nice legit vanilla character. I will say that the smoothness is a lot better here than I was hoping. The mouth feel is thick and chewy with a great bourbon and vanilla character. The aftertaste is lingeringly vanilla booze with a hint of dark fruits and a touch of bourbon heat. This was such a good brew.

bourbon vanilla chocolate marshmallow; need I say more? Smells just as it tastes. Much more balanced than vanilla rye, and one of the best beers I have ever had.

Smell is bourbon, vanilla, and caramel. Tastes like a smoother version of BCBS with vanilla added. Thick and smooth.

Midsommar 2015 i Nolsterby. Årgång 2010, flaska som Randall lämnat (thanks!) Delikat och balanserad bourbon. Flytande mörk choklad. Alltid kul att dricka historia. Svaga lagringstoner som troligen inte vinner på längre lagring. Rund och len.

Shared with the Dangerous Crew. Pour that characteristic BCBS inky black, brown/reddish hue, alcohol lacing, with a small khaki head. Aroma on this bad boy has plenty of vanilla, slight coffee, some brownie/cake like goodness to it. Chocolate fudge, and surprisingly roasted considering the age. Yes, plenty of wood/oak and barrel. Taste is pretty sweet, with some very well balancing bitter notes. Medium - semi full bodied, with a semi flat carbonation, that sparkles ever so slightly on the tongue. Some faint oaky tannins somewhere in this. I can’t thank my friend Brian a.k.a mr. Boogy enough for letting me have a go at this sob. Thanks buddy.
