4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
head: capuccino , bubbly , away fast
colour: black as hell
smell: chocolat , coffee, bourbon , vanilla coconut, roasted malts, candy sirup, ashy , smoke , cigars ( higher level brands )
taste: start is deep black chocolat with pralinť filling , candy sirup , caramel and vanilla followed by a boozy bourbony alcohol flavour that burns the mouth a bit , bitter cocoa powder and sweetness of brown chocolat, when swallowed alcohol remains, together with a beautifful bourbon/whiskey palate and a bit of smokeyness ... end is a bit roasted malts and semi dry , oily texture , AWESOME I WANT ANOTHER BOTTLE OF THIS ! sipping this beer is obliged !

Itís terribly hard to argue this is not a perfect beer... Because in a few years in a cellar it would be in 3-5 years. Let it warm and enjoy this sweet bourbon stout. This beer is as dark as oil, smelly, tasty, sweet.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Christmas day beer 2015, letís go. Deep black pour with a thin, tan head that hangs around. Burnt malts and bourbon assault the nose. This is damn well crafted beer. Alcohol is completely hidden and itís smooth all the way down. Flavor has a ton of roasted malt notes and some cocoa, as well as the woodiness of the bourbon barrels coming through. Definitely something to try at least once.

Bottled August 2013. 355ml, shared with friends in snifters. Very boozy, filled the room when opening. Pitch black, very little carbonation.
Toffee malts, brown sugar and big bourbon flavour and burn. slightly out of balance. Would benefit from some time in the dark. Great introduction.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
As advertised. Pitch black, little tan head that faded fast. So many aromas and flavors. Very surprised at the smoothness for ABV. Want to try the coffee.

On tap at blend. 5 oz sampler w 2013, 2014, and barleywine.
2013 is very bold, with boubon. 2014 is less in your face, but a little less flavor. Depending on your mood, either would be better. 2014 would usually be my choice but i recognize the greatness of the 2013.
Aroma bourbon, toasted malt.
Taste brown sugar, coffee, bourbon of course.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
í14 version, many thanks to Tom!
Pours a thick, syrupy, completely black color, with a small, soon disappearing dark brown head, leaving a very thin lacing at the edge of the glass.
Has an intriguing nose of earthy, scorched malts with hints of molasses to it, along with milk chocolate, vanilla notes and a gentle barrel infusion, providing a convincing amount of wood and slightly hot Bourbon, blending outstandingly well into the sweeter notes of the beer, building up a fantastic, complexity. A generous amount of toffee and cocoa nibs complete the inviting aromas of this beer.
Tastes of earthy, wooden, toasted malts, mingled together with an unbelievable chocolate creaminess, giving this beer its incredible smooth mouthfeel. Even though this is a sipper, it drinks fairly easy, as the alcohol isnít hidden, but a fundamentaly, well integrated aspect. The Bourbon builds up on the palate above the malt and chocolate foundation, inviting sweeter flavors of molasses, toffee and nougat to the taste, which not only provide a well fitting depth, but also are responsible for wrapping up any alcoholic burn in a very pleasant way, providing a rich, complex, slightly burning Bourbon character with oaken qualities to it. These then again blend well into the malts, leading to a sweeter finish, with a subtle coffee bitterness in the end, calmed by lots of bakers chocolate, exiting with a short, sharp bourbon bite.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours black with almost no dark tan head. Aroma is all bourbon. This is not my type of beer. Doesnít really taste like beer, more like liqueur. Taste is sweet bourbon and thatís about it.

Great nose....perfect body for a stout. The taste is a little boozy, but after aging it for a year it becomes absolutely amazing. Keeping yourself from drinking it and allowing this one to age is not the easiest thing to do.

Not much on aroma, but full on taste. Black in color, pours thick. Very sweet taste, though not a malty sweet. Tastes of chocolate, vanilla, and raisin. Sweet chocolatey finish.
