4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
2012 and 2013 were poured in a side by side taste test.
A - Black as night with a dense dark mocha head that takes ití time going down. This coated my glass turning it brown.
S - Bourbon, vanilla, dark caramel, loads of sweet barley, cherries, decadent chocolate, strong coffee, very rich aroma. More vanilla and cherry in the 2013. The 2012 had more of a leathery/melded caramel malt aroma.
T - Big bourbon flavor, thick caramel with a hint of char, huge vanilla and amaretto flavor, aggressive whiskey soaked wood, a complex mix of cocoa, coffee, sweet dark fruit, alcohol was more evident in the 2013. The finish flashes all previous flavors with a nice whiskey roundness.
M - The silkiest, smoothest beer Iíve had to date. Carbonation is medium to low with incredible creaminess. Heavy and viscous body coating the palate with a velvety feel.
Wow! This is one of the best barrel aged stouts, if not the best Iíve ever had. Itís pure bliss. I liked the 2013 better than the 2012 but both were incredible. Highly recommended.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
2013 bottle. Pours black with a thin, tan head. Aroma has great, smooth notes of bourbon barrel, roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, wood spice, molasses, and that slight tart fruit I get from barreled beers. Taste is balanced well and not too sweet. Dark chocolate, bourbon barrel, wood spice, caramel, dark fruits, and a smooth, bourbon filled, alcohol warmed ending. Full body with a medium-low carbonation. Syrupy but not cloying in the mouth with a dry finish. Overall a really big beer with lots going on. Iím sure Iíve missed things. Dark chocolate, roast, bourbon, toffee, caramel, wood spice, and faint alcohol. Delicious and nicely aged.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
500 ml bottle, bottled Sep 15.
Black body, with a small, dense, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of bourbon, dark chocolate, cocoa, liquorice, coffee, some alcohol.
Taste follows this, with additional vanilla and more booze.
Full, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes boozy, but smooth, with cocoa, coffee, dark chocolate, some liquorice, some dark fruits.
Tasty. Very well integrated bourbon notes, overall really smooth, except that the alcohol is a bit too present for my liking. Overall great stuff, but not among my favourite Imperial Stouts.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma chocolate, roasty, vanilla, woody, bourbon,
Appearance black, minimal head, tan foam, brown foam,
Taste medium sweetness, medium bitterness,
Palate full body, thick feel,
Overall this is one of the infected batches so itís hard for me to give a honest opinion. To me the taste is full flavor of barrel bourbon and booze. I canít tell if it is infected because this is the first time having it. Not getting any tart flavors. I think itís a really good stout that I would like to try uninfected. I would suggest this beer to a friend.

Bottle from 2012. Thanks chris! - Sweet bourbon and oak. The complexity from the bourbon comes through, big time! Chocolate syrup. Flavor has tons of vanilla, milk chocolate and coffee. Bourbon and more chocolate. This was hands down amazing. One of the best beers ive tried. Lives up to the hype!

Bottle 0,355. 2012 edt. Vanilla, cocoa, raisins, alcohol is noticeable. Taste is alcohol, vanilla, coffee and a hint of chocolate. The alcohol is overwhelming, itís almost like drinking liquor. To much alcohol, otherwise quite good. Full body, oily and sticky texture, soft carbonation.

Great beer as always. Disappointed they produced so much in 2015. Hopefully their quality isn't going down.
