4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Billowing smoke in the neck of the bottle when opened. Nice brown thinnish head which disappears quickly. Obviously the first whiff of the glass yeild smoke, bourbon and wood. The bourbon is definitely there but in the background. Burnt , chewy & meaty with tobacco Caramel and some cola. And the bourbon is restrained. Potent, delicious but in no way was it a brain rattler

At the 8th tasting (round 2), held in Vranovo and Pozarevac. 2014 bottle courtesy of luttonm from Seattle-USA. Thank you, ciao. Pours a deep dark brown color, small ivory foam...really minimal. Nose: Ouh yeah! A blast of the roundest notes ever of vanilla, Bourbon, bouquet of roasted notes of coffee, fresh, just perfect. Stunning attack of wood and whiskey, close to perfection. Mouth: it feels like chewing some very tasty pralines, vanilla, chocolate, dry bitter end.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Review of the 2014 vintage. You can tell from the pour that this is a very viscous beer. Just a small dark colored head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is big on bourbon without having any offensive alcohol burn. Taste is awesome: chocolate, caramel, toffee, vanilla and the specific coconut from the bourbon barrels. Long caramely aftertaste. Dense and silky body with very well hidden alcohol. I enjoyed it more than the 2013 vintage. This might be a "Top 10" beer for me.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Originally reviewed on 9/27/2011. 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. Pitch black with some transparency at the edges. No head, a slight wisp of lace, otherwise lifeless. Bourbon aroma like no other. A lot of booze, too. Bourbon taste up front, with a strong chocolate malt midrange flavor. Really exceptional taste. Not really complex, I suppose, but the stout flavor is there and the bourbon complements it really well. It finishes chocolatey and boozy as hell. Tastes every bit of 13% and possibly more. Tingly in the mouth, so much so that itís tough to tell the carbonation levels. Definitely a sipper. This is one of those beers where the taste is so good that it outweighs the flaws of the rest of the beer. Itís boozy and it looks the lower side of mediocre, but it tastes amazing.

12 oz bottle - pours black as night with a slight head that is a desert tan color. The aroma is huge and intense - full of dark chocolate, espresso, black licorice, a hint of bourbon and burnt bread. A mouthful is thick and viscous. Flavor is intense with anise, bitter chocolate, aged bourbon, coffee, prune juice and a hint of boozy heat. Truly a treat.

Kolsvart färg, tunt skumlager, doft av soya, otroligt komplex smak men fantastiskt god

Excellent bourbon stout. My only complaint is that it is almost just a little too boozy. It very much is like drinking a glass of bourbon. Canít wait to try on a cold winterís night

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Heavy bourbon and vanilla smell. Taste is a very boozy stout with bourbon, vanilla, and light chocolate. Thick but too boozy for my tastes.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
12 oz bottle, one of four from a $20 4 pack, hope itís worth the hype and $$ price tag.
Black, with ruby edges, nice thick tan head that recedes like a nitro stout head.
Big boozy bourbon aroma hits you first, but as it settles down, you get molasses, vanilla, oak, liquorice. Flavor is equally complex. Smooth, sweet, chocolaty entry, leads to molasses, vanilla, oak, tobacco, liquorice, bourbon, caramel, smoke. High ABV is well hidden, but it starts to lean a little too much to the sweet side before the glass is finished. But yeah, Iíd buy it again. Note to Greg Hall. There are several cigars that would stand up to and pair well with this beer. If you are going with cigars legal in the U.S, Padron Anniversario, Rocky Patel, Alec Bradley Black Market, Montecristo White label, Camacho, Fuente Sungrown, Ashton VSG. As far as the not legal in the U.S for now Cuban cigars, try Partagas serie D no 3, Bolivar Royal Corona. anything Montecristo.
