4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
First time having this in quite some time (we don’t get this in WA anymore).
Viscous and black with a very minimal dark chestnut colored head that quickly retreats leaving nothing but a wisp of light tan colored film on the surface. Aroma is of bourbon, chocolate, light roasted malts, dark fruit (prune, fig), some toffee/caramel and light ethanol (for 15% ABV this is insanely impressive...as it’s barely detectable). Taste is incredible...and complex! Dark fruit, vanilla, coconut, toffee, some underlying roasted malt, chocolate, bourbon...lots going on here! It feels almost slightly "chewy", but drinks very easily despite the complexity and high ABV. Leaves a sweet, chocolately aftertaste. This is a superb bourbon barrel imperial stout. Wish I had more!

Couleur d’un noir profond avec un col brun mince mais résistant. Arome très complexe de café, chocolat noir, vanille, alcool, bois, pain grillé. A boire lentement. Une explosion de saveur, une très bonne imperial stout!

Bottle from aleigator. Black body, with almost brown short lastest head. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, wood and bourbon and bit smoke. Very good, but strong stout stout, takes a while to consume :)

Bourbon aged barrels give this stout a unique twist. Better served at room temp vs chilled. Definitely good with a cigar. Very strong and sip slow. Highly enjoyable session!

This beer made me sleep like a baby I even forgot to rate it while drinking it last night. The aroma was just fantastic. Definitely charred oak and vanilla came to mind as I sipped down this thick full bodied monster. I loved it more as I drank the glass half full. Carmel and light notes of chocolate splashed my tongue along with the bourbon smoke to it. Very interesting IMO beings I haven’t had this beer in any version before. Just loved it! Cheers

I am not sure if I can add anything to the overly numerous reviews. This is a splendid, solid stout. Incredibly high ABV -- yet not boozy at all. Recommended, highly.
