Big thanks to BelgBeerGeek for sharing this one. If you want to smell & taste hazelnut, praline, chocolate, cocos, vanilla, bourbon, honey, caramel, this is your beer. Not very complex but mouthfeel is good and has a great aroma & taste. Praline in a glass.

Rating 1501. Very dark brown, almost pitch black. Less siropy as expected. The vanilla gives a nice touch to this brew. Combined with the coffee and chocolate, this one is really like tasting a dessert. I like it for sure. 2010

Draft from TJ’s summer 2013. Poured dark black with brown head. Nose was oaky bourbon, dark malt, ample vanilla, molasses. Tasted rich, roasty dark malt, oak, bourbon, vanilla, and cacao. Complex and delicious.

22 oz. bottle won at Binny’s raffle (Clayborne across from G.I.) after the BCBS release on Black Friday. Color has a coating of oily irradiance over the tope of the stout. Coats the glass with a oily residue. Nose is light traces of vanilla bean, chocolate and booze. The flavor is an exact replica of the aroma. I feel like the booze is out of place after after 3 years of age. Texture is oily and silky. Don’t get me wrong it’s still good however, the vanilla has got to be much tamer then it was at release or 18 months ago. Wish I would have had this 18 months ago. Overall I enjoyed it like every other BCBS, top notch even after 3 years old.

Bomber thanks to i don’t remember who. Big bold roasted malt with big vanilla. Really big vanilla. Big licorice notes. Nice molasses. Light alcohol. Taste roasted malt with vanilla. Lots of vanilla and molasses. Finish lots of vanilla and light alcohol. Finish some ashes and some vanilla and molasses. All in all a big beer with no subtleties. Still fairly tasty and pretty interesting, Nice persistent finish.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2014 Bottle courtesy of Colin (Theydon Bois) cheers my friend! consumed at my dads, Kilburn, Derbyshire, Tuesday 24th December 2013 (Christmas Eve) Pours black, like an oil slick with a small beige head. Oh my what a nose, coffee, milky chocolate, bourbon and vanilla, love the vanilla and what it adds to this beer, its great. This is wonderful a simply massive chocolate hit in the mouth wave after wave of chocolate and tons of vanilla. This is super indulgent, no..hugely indulgent, dad, Loz, Toni in fact all of them love this. Its rich, thick and has masses of chocolate and the vanilla is marvellous, thick in the mouth, you simply do not want this beer ever to end. There are tons of imperial stouts some of them I feel are overated, this is top draw and deserves all of the plaudits, amazing stuff! What a beer can’t thank Colin enough, cheers Colin!
