UPDATED: NOV 29, 2013 bottled on 11/05/10 poured a black in color with little head and a somewhat still look. aroma has bourbon, more of a malted body than the other versions, woody vanilla, and some roast. mouth feel is thick but the carbonation could be a bit more. flavor has some initial heated bourbon and the vanilla is more on the heavy barrel side than the fresh sprigs but it does smooth things out a bit. the malted side stands out more for me here than in other versions and there is lots of molasses flavor and texture. it is the the least crushing of the versions so far and considering the alcohol it is not overly boozy. overall I was hoping for more of a raw vanilla thing and it comes off as a heavy barrel side instead, however the beer is smooth.

Pours very dark brown with a small dark tan head. The aroma has very roasty malt, smooth bourbon, cocoa, vanilla, cream, oak and some heat. Medium / full body thatís smooth and rich with fairly soft carbonation. The flavor starts with dark roasty malt thatís offset by sweetness and vanilla, smooth bourbon, chocolate and warming alcohol. The finish has some dark fruit and earthy hops. There is a lingering taste of roast, vanilla and warmth. Really nice impy stout.

The beer pours dark soy sauce black with a very small head. The aroma is vanilla and booze, very nice. The body is lightly carbonated with big flavors of the vanilla, hot booze, and roasted dark malts combined very nicely together. It is so smooth for an ABV of 13, this beer is amazing.

I canít believe things can get better! Thanks again Dave! Rich chocolate carmel bourbon nose. Very full and smooth mouthfeel. Whiskey vanilla well balanced creamy taste. Not too sweet, some roasty bitterness at the finish. Alcohol shows up, to my pleasure. this beer is everything and then some. the vanilla really adds the final complexity to a really great beer. The bourbon does not over power the rest of the flovors

(22oz bottle courtesy of Alpar!). Pours black with khaki head. Lots of bourbon, caramel and some vanilla. Taste is sweet with lots of bourbon, but not overwhelming, and a little alcohol bite on the end. The alcohol is noticeable in the warmth that you feel in the throat and chest. Full bodied with creamy, slick texture. Finish is smooth and the vanilla becomes more noticeable. Awesome!

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Black colour, beige head. Pours oily and viscous. Aroma is roasted malts, cocoa, lots of vanilla. Flavour is sweet malts, lots of vanilla, roastiness, molasses. Great aroma, but the flavour is a bit too sweet and too heavy on the vanilla, otherwise superb drinkable.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2011 Bottle from Bullit. Vanilla & cocoa aroma. Almost black colour. Very strong rich vanilla coffee flavour. Lingering sweet spicy aftertaste. Smooth. Not for me.

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Dense dark brown head. Lastning. Aroma is full of impressions like, liqourice, roast, sweetness, caramel, brown sugar, wood, vanilla, marzipan, slight alcohol, some coffee and I could actually go on an on. Flavour is not as immense as the aroma in my book. Liqourice, roast, vanilla, alcohol, coffee, chocolate, molasses, cocanut, alcohol, vague soy sauce. Quite full bodied. Ends on a roasty smooth bitterness with a chocolaty alcohol bite. This is a treat, which is delightful to enjoy while watching Barcelone vs. Arsenal.

22oz bomber, bottled 11/5/10, courtesy of tim and thomas on BA! thanks, guys! pours a gorgous, oily, slicky black with a thin, one-finger, dark mocha head with nice retention and smooth, oily lacing. aroma is absolutely fantastic, like no beer iíve ever smelled before, with massive notes of authentic vanilla, iím talking nougat, icing, cake, and beans layered beautifully atop the smooth, base bourbon county notes of oak, bourbon, dark chocolate cake, and subtle roast with hints of toasted coconut, brown sugar, maple wood, and brandied figs. flavor is amazing as well with the sweet, woody, vanilla and coconut notes beautifully complementing the charred oak, dark roasted malts, and bitter chocolate notes of bourbon county with the spicy bourbon provinding great balance at midpalate with dark fruit notes of fig, raisin, and date emerging on the finish. palate is full bodied, perfectly carbonated, and has a superb balance of sweetness, roast, and woody, bourbon spice that can get lost in many over-the-top barrel aged imperial stouts. overall, this treatment of bourbon county trumps the coffee and leaves me salivating for the rare sitting in my cellar.

Bottle thanks to Marissa (marked 11/05/10). Pours with a black body with a small tan head. Aromas of brown sugar, chocolate, tons of vanilla, some salinity, chocolate, maple and barrel. Flavors of raisins, vinous, port (in the finish). Big and sweet, hot and syrupy. Burnt cotton candy. Viscous and hot with medium bubbles. Very sweet. Very tasty, but I prefer the regular version to this.
