650 ml bottle courtesy of guyinchicago. Thanks Chuck. Pours an opaque black color with a small brown head that immediately disappears. The aroma is strong with bourbon whiskey and a bit of cocoa. The taste, like the aroma, is dominated by bourbon whiskey, besides whiskey I get anise, mocha, black walnuts, vanilla and burnt toast. The palate is thick and syrupy with soft carbonation. Finishes impossibly long and semi-sweet. Overall: This exceeded my already sky-high expectations. very nice.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2015 This beer aims at your soft "vanilla-spots" with a base in the legendary bourbon county . And that is basically what this beer is. A bourbon county stout loaded with vanilla. Ofc I like it? Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, huge vanilla and some roasted malts. Taste add some warming alcohol and a bit of liquorice and dark dried fruits. In short: Bourbon County plus tons of vanilla!

Colour is black, head is very small. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, toffee and liquorice. Thick and smooth mouth feel. Flavour is bourbon, liquorice, oak and chocolate. Finish is hot and boozy, but in a balanced way.

Bottle. Low and quickly disappearingt light brown fluffy head. Pitch black body. Coffee wood vanilla liquorice aroma. Coffee liquorice choccolate vanilla sweet smooth and pleasant but with bitter notes as well. Low carbonation. Long sweet aftertaste Yum yum. I would never have guessed on such a high alcohol content. Very well balance between the sweet and the bitter notes.

This is perverse. An insanely perverse beer and I am ashamed to admit liking it. Itís like listening to "Never Gonna Give You Up" on the radio, and you cannot stop yourself from slightly dancing. Itís like watching Extreme Home Makeovers and being really touched by the whole scenery. Itís like liking Dan Brownís books. Itís like actually liking a beer more than last yearís batch. tís like thinking Jean claude Van Damme is cool. Itís like a homo-erotic fantasy involving David Beckham. Itís like dancing with your mommy thinking "this is fun". Itís like really liking George Michael. Itís like eating hot dogs at a wedding. Itís like hating Orval.

Bomber. Pours as black as my ex-wifeís soul with a thin tan head. The nose is dark fruits, burnt malt, bourbon, dark chocolate and vanilla. The taste is vanilla upfront with dark fruits, milk chocolate, roast and coffee. This has a subdued barrel compared to the regular version and much sweeter - the sweetness must cut down the bourbon. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Very good but not sure I like it more than the original. Iíll have to try Rare next to see how it compares.

22oz bottle pours an oily, opaque black with a thin, tan head. Big vanilla nose, coffee, chocolate, booze, sweet. Flavor has a ton of vanilla, coffee, brown sugar. Full bodied, sweet vanilla finish. WAY to much vanilla.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black color, with a small fastly dissapating tan head. Aroma is of bourbon, oak, roasted malt, coffee, slight amount of vanilla, alcohol and some liqourice. The flavor is really big and complex with roasted malt, coffee, liqourice dark fruits, bourbon, bourbon soaked raisins, vanilla, booze, roasted malt and some faint dark chocolate. The body is full with a creamy mouthfeel. Overall a really big and complex brew, really a treat. Age this for 1 year+ and it will probably become even better.
