(bottle - 22 oz) Had two bottles of this over the course of the night. Deep rich black pour with a dark tan head. Huge bourbon in the nose with a ton of vanilla. Almost has a creamy coffee smell to it. Very sweet and warm. Flavor is immense. Vanilla, bourbon, roasted coffee, burnt malts and cream all rolled up into one thick and delicious beer. The vanilla rolls around with the bourbon and the stout and sits perfectly on the palate. A little hot but it was only 2 weeks old. Can’t wait to try it with some age on it. Incredible.

Big thanks to Dosbeerigos for sharing this. A perfect imperial stout. Aroma is slightly boozy with a good amount of vanilla bean and cream. Appearance is pitch black with a small brown head, good lacing. Taste is slightly sweet and boozy. Ton of vanilla with hints of milk lactose. Incredible.

Bottle shared with friends at Mikkeller bar. Fantastic beer with rich syrup like taste, even more vanilla than the original. (Rated 2011/04/09)

22 oz. bottle. Pours a thick, dense, deep black with a moderate dark brown head that lasted through the first two sips and left scant lace. The aroma is simply exquisite with ample vanilla, bourbon, caramel, oak, and chocolate. Just amazing. The flavor is similar to the aroma and is filled with delicious vanilla, bourbon, caramel, oak, chocolate and coffee. There is some definite booziness at the finish and noticeable alcohol warmth, but I think that enhances this beer given its richness and depth. Reminds me in some ways of a fine liqueur. Full bodied with a dense, silky mouthfeel. This is delicious. Virtual perfection.

2010 bomber with the family on Xmas 2011. Espresso colored with almost no head. Tiny bubbles persist making carbonation evident. Lush nose of vanilla, molasses, brown sugar, and bourbon. Mild heat. Thick, sticky sweet, good, tingly carbonation. Chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, some dark, dried fruits, and toffee. Lasting roasty vanilla and toffee. Heat, at 13%, is well masked. Exceptional.

Well I have been waiting for this one for a LONG time. Black pour. Brown head. Aroma is very much like regular BCS but with a tad more sweetness and chocolate cake. Flavor is a bit sweeter than regular BCS and it seems a bit smoother. Very oily texture...thick and delicious. Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate...what more can you ask for!

On draft for Goose Island night at Rattle & Hum, NYC with the SUDS crew. Lots of vanilla aroma and flavor on top of a first rate Imperial Stout. Long finish and great palate. Alcohol well hidden. A perfect after dinner choice. I could find so little wrong with this. It receives the highest RB score I’ve given to date. Bring this east!

This is an exceptional beer. It is pretty much the Bourbon County Stout except with a great vanilla finish that comes at the end of my palate. Both vanilla and caramel comes out at the end of each tasting.
