Finally. Finally. Finally. Damn this was worth the wait for me. Cloudy brown color. Tons of smooth bourbon on the nose. Some wood, vanilla, chocolate, caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is just sublime. Bourbon, vanilla, oak, toffee and caramel. God can I please have another bottle? PLEASE?????

Pours a deep dark chestnut brown color that’s completely opaque with a two finger frothy off-white head. Great retention only slowly fading into a lasting cap. The glass is left coated with rings and chunks of lacing. Sweet malt aroma with a prominent barrel presence. Lots of earthy oak and bourbon as wel as some vanilla and toasted coconut. Slightly vinous as well with dark fruit notes. Underneath, the sweet malts are evident with chocolate and caramel. Medium bodied with some soft carbonation up front and a strong barrel character. Lots of toasted oak/wood as well as some prominent vanilla. The bourbon flavor is there but not as powerful as I expected. Sweet bourbon flavor but it’s well integrated into the beer. Kind of refreshing to taste something that’s not a complete bourbon bomb. Underneath the barrel, the base beer makes itself known. Sweet chocolate and caramel notes give off sweetness that compliment the bourbon. Nice alcohol flavor without any heat. Extremely drinkable.

2006 Bottle purchased at Lone Hill, opened at RBSG 2009. Nose is sweet with only light bourbon wood, brown sugar, milk. Color is lighter than expected - a very light brown and headless. Flavor is light pastry spice, a Seigneuriale flavor, again mild bourbon, oxidized sweetness. Much less big than I expected, but seems to have aged well, if slightly at the expense of the bourbon.

Bomber bottle 2006 batch. Smell is bourbon. A lot of bourbon. Pours with a massive foamy head, thick brown cloudy dark black colored. Flavors of soft malt and bourbon. Mildly sweet with a bit of bittering hops at the end. Solid beer, well done. Ages well.

This $30 bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy tan colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a semi-opaque dark brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The aroma was of brown malt and strong bourbon. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of strong bourbon and vinous malt. A wonderful best in class brew.

Cocoay, with some spicing, like a caramel spice cake coved in chocolate, little hints of the bourbon, taste dosen’t reveal the spice to much ,mostly velvety, caramel chocolate with lots of the vanilla apects of the bourbon, almost has a chocolate liquerfinish,no roastedness, pleasant, satisfying, wonderful, thanks kingpin

Pours out a deep brown color with a huge beige head. All i can get is bourbon in the aroma. Flavor tastes like Jim Beam on the rocks that has been sitting out for about 30 mins. I love this beer. its grrrrrrrrrrreat!!

Plastic corked 750 from the MJRBC. 2006 vintage. Brilliant, very clear dark brown with a thick tan head. Sweet, fruity and malty, caramel, bourbon complements well, not overbourbonated. Soft palate, excellent and, apparently, underrated, IMO.

mmmm bourbon. oh yeah, plenty of nutty/toffee malt flavors you would expect from a brown ale...with some vanilla and oak character, but most importantly...smooth smooth bourbon. just enough to really compliment the beer and now overpower it
