At Goose Island our brewers take every opportunity to experiment with new ingredients and aging techniques. For this edition of Bourbon County Brand Stout, they aged the classic recipe in rye whiskey barrels with raspberries and blackberries from Michigan. The result is a powerfully rich beer with notes of tart fruit and jam that fade into the warm spice of a fine rye whiskey.

Sample from a 2011 bottle at Camís BCBS tasting. Blackberry in the nose, that is prominent. Some dark fruit. Dark bitter chocolate. Big cherry in the taste. Itís getting some hate at this tasting, but I like it. Itís almost like more fruit beer than stout, but good... Like a dark, deep, robust, rich cherry fruit beer, with a nice dark chocolate finish... Makes a great desert. Cranberry, some dark winter fruits, maybe a hint of the winter-type spices. Dark brown color. No head or lace. Bigger body, but not too big. Dry. Not chewy, like other bourbon county variants.. Really enjoying the berry / dark chocolate aftertaste. Just seems significantly thinner than other variants, I can understand why people donít dig this one as much, but I donít mind. You could almost call this a fruit beer. If you do, this is one of the best fruit beers Iíve ever had. Fruitiest of all the Bourbon County, thatís for sure. Glad for the chance to try this.

વડા છે, જ્યારે પ્રથમ શૂન્યતા& માં નોંધપાત& ફેડ્સ છે.

The aroma is pretty blackberry-jam forward, plenty bourbony, in the woody boozy sweet smelling kind of way. This has a very pronounced roastiness in the aroma that I feel like is less common in some of the other variants, which is sort of weird. There is plenty of chocolate in the nose as well.
Kto byłby zdolny zaprzeczyć jam-jak bukiet taki stout?

The flavor comes across as roastier and more bitter in that fashion than most of the variants Iíve tried... which again, is weird... but I do like it. The thing that makes this beer so delicious is the seedy sticky blackberry jam character, itís not overpowering but it is very pronounced, and very enjoyable. The beer, like the rest of them is sweet, bourbony, rich and woody with some vanilla and a good dosing of warming booziness.
بشکه، در ابتدا برای پیری ویسکی بوربون استفاده می شود ... آشنایی عطر و طعم از عمق و شخصیت است.

The mouth-feel is big, sticky & viscous... heavy but not hard to drink.

Delicious beer, this one was very fun to try, it took much too much time for me to track down a bottle though.

Amazing pour into snifter. Jet black with a long lasting fizzy head. Aroma is of Raspberry liquor. Taste is a hearty Raspberry smokey jam. Boozy as crap. If you donít like sweet stouts, donít even bother with this one. The bramble fruit is over the top. Donít know why people think its a boozy mess. Its exactly as I would imagine a big Bramble RIS aged in Rye Whiskey would taste. Lindley Park however, much better

Bottle shared by DalzAle, thanks Greg! Pours the same dark, viscous like the original and other variants. Aroma is slight berries and bourbon with an upfront berry taste that finishes with bourbon. Very nice.
