2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Draft at the Beer Bistro Invasion. Pours a moderately hazy orangey gold with a nice enough white foam on top. Nose is peculiar with some sweet caramel and odd candied orange zest. Not a ton of Belgian or GI character. On tasting, it gets worse. Overly sweet, none of the desireable GI Belgian character. Light hopping but that sticky caramel turns this into a train wreck. Probably one of the worst GI beers I’ve had in a long time, if not ever. Nope.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft on tap at Beer Bistro for their Invasion! (Chicago, IL). Pours a well hazed murky amber pour, a nice orange glow around with a frothy offwhite head that dies to a small ring. Aromas are bready, with cereal grains, touches of toffee and biscuits with dry florals, a touch of citrus. Fairly malt overall with some lingering spice, sweeter yeast, and a touch of honey. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied with sweeter malts, biscuits and honey, bread, cereal grains. Touches of dry hops, but really kinda a doughy sweeter cereal grain mess. Sweet bread, biscuits, and touch of honey, dry grass shows up a bit. Finish is fairly sweet, bland, lacking a true hopping. This beer isn’t put together well and lacks balance. Finish is lingering bread, biscuits, touch of honey. Meh.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at beer bistro. Pours hazy deep golden with small white head. Nose of honeydew, watermellon, and candy sugar. Flavors of sweet candy sugar and honeydew, wow really sweet and melons. Heavy body. Really poor fermentation.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: AUG 11, 2011 Solid pour again at te goose takeover at beer bistro... Pours a semi-hazy orangey brown pour and topped with a rhin soapy white head... Aroma of muddled papaya and fruity hop notes. Doesn’t really come together all that well. ... Flavors have a Belgian yeast aspect upfront with lighter semi-sweet citrus to back things up. Light to medium bodied with softer carbonation than expected. Totally lackluster for me.
