3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 pantanap (2838) - Chicago, USA - APR 26, 2010
CBC ipa on tap at goose clybourn... Pours a mostly clear orangey apple
cider brown with a foamy thick white head... Funky, yeasty aroma
attributed to the Matilda yeast with fruitier undertones underneath it
all... Sweeter flavor profile with smooth sweeter hop flavors much
akin to a Matilda with a touch of bitterness lingering in the back of
the mouth. Creamy full mouthfeel is an added bonus. 8/4/7/4/14

Draft in a sampler at the Clybourn brewpub. Pours a clear golden-hued copper with a small white head. Nice, fresh aroma with fruity hops, bready yeast, and sweet malts. The freshness falls off a bit in the flavor, which is still fine, and has notes of apricot and melon along with sweet malts. Medium-bodied, with a bitter, juicy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Solid IPA.

Draft at Clybourn. Really nice Belgian IPA. Pours a hazed Orange-gold with a sticky white head. Nose is banana, citrus and mango. Some white pepper phenol comes across as well. Soft. On tasting, the bitterness is really nice, not too high. Lots of juicy fruits come through, as well as more of that white pepper. Medium dry with a nice sweet malt backbone. Clean and crisp overall.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 crossovert (2791) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 20, 2012
A decent Belgian ipa. It is less flowery and spicy than most but rather tropical and fruity, not a lot of bitterness.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheAlum (3299) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - MAR 15, 2012
Flight on tap at the Clybourn brewpub (Chicago, IL). Pours a faintly hazed striking gold orange hue, fiery glow. Frothy white head dies to a film, laces well as a decent fuller layer. Aromas are Belgian spice, yeast, and fruity apple, citrus mixed with a firm dry floral and bitter hopping. Touches of bread dough, gentle sweetness, yeast grows in potency. Initial is medium bodied, offering a pleasant bready and citrusy life up front, touches of dough, estery fruit and a firm hopping. Touches of banana, apple, pear and dough in the middle. Finish is mellow dryness, spice and bitter hops. The comp component makes a firm stand up front, dry and bitter, getting a touch sweet in the middle. Finishes a touch spicy and dry. Pleasant.
