3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Flight pour on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). Pours a rich deeper copper, touch of haze, but rich deep reddish glow. Summer sunset end, with a touch of offwhite head that dies to a film, laces minimally. Aromas are a firm reddish fruit element, toast and toffee, biscuits, bread. Lots of red fruit hit the palate. Initial is lighter end of the fold, some spice and red fruit, gentle earthy tea element. Toast, biscuits, some toffee. Not too sweet with a lighter body into the fold, some tea, earthy hops and soil. A bit of stale sweetness, red berry fruit, toast and biscuits. Backend offers toast, biscuits, and bread. Gentle dry earthy hops. Nice beer, light and drinkable even at almost 6 percent. I enjoyed this. It’s not complex or deep, but it’s a drinker.
