First rating. Ashamed I didn’t take notes on this one. Was in a hurry to get to the STP show 3/27. $8 snifter. Served too cold to really enjoy. Aroma was of chocolate, roast malts, lactose, and a heavenly truffle. Pitch black into glass. Taste was chocolately, moreso than alot of other beers I’ve had. Palate was indeed milky. Menu compared it to YooHoo. Had a decent bitter end, but not extremely hoppy. This was a great damn brew. I’d love to have it again, or even better, see it in bottles.

Growler from Tooch4321...thanks Adam! Just a hint of chocolate on the nose. Nothing too standout, but a solid brew. Not much chocolate, but you do get a hint on the finish. Over all a beer I would gladly drink again.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
It pours a murky light black without much head or retention.
The aroma is mostly light sweet chocolate, nice, not overpowering but not very complex.
The taste is actually really nice. It shows of the chocolate notes but it doesn’t dominate or come off to sweet, unlike the southern tier choklat for example.
The feel is on the lighter side, pretty easy to drink.
Overall, this was pretty good. If you want something chocolate that is easy to drink and not going to overpower you with choolate I’d go for this.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Goose Island Clybourn. This was the hidden tap I guess since it wasn’t on their daily menu, and it wasn’t until ordering our 3rd and 4th flights that we found out about it (granted we didn’t ask about anything like that until we had exhausted all of the new beers that were on the menu). Pours a deep mocha brown to black with a medium beige head. Smells like chocolate milk, sweet, and lightly roasty. Very smooth, cocoa is soft and subtle, with a light sweetness.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Raster at gi cly... Pours a mostly dark brown almost black with red edges
and a thin light beige head... Aroma of chocolate malt with a sidenote of yeast and dark fruit and perhaps a light roast... Thin bodied for having that high of an abv with chocolate notes and dark fruit with a sweeter dark fruit finish. Medium carbonation. Can’t say this tasted similar to the sips I had earlier in the week.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Gi Clybourn. Pour is almost black with very little head. Aroma is roasted malt, lightly creamy, distant acidity, and light tobacco. Flavor is also full of roasted malt with a touch of acidity. The chocolate does not come out until the finish. Dark Chocolate.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Goose Island. Color is dark brown. Not a big nose to this chocolate stout. Little aroma to it. Thin to medium bodied. Hoppy with some sweet chocolate flavors that are hidden deeply. Flavors are all pretty weak on this chocolate stout. Smooth and easy to drink. Disappointing for 8% ABV chocolate stout. Got chocolate?
