Specialty Belgian malts create a deep garnet color and a truly rich old European flavor in our classic Christmas Ale. And the generous amount of crystal hops adds that extra spicy aroma to your pint, perfect for a wintry night. Our Christmas Ale brings good tidings and joy to each Holiday Season. A two-time Gold Medal Winner in the World Beer Championships.

The original Goose Island Christmas Ale clocked in at 5.7% ABV. There was no 2010 vintage. The 2011 vintage saw a bump to 6.2% ABV but no new entry. The 2012 vintage was bumped up further to 7.5% ABV.

Quite malty. Very hoppy with some definite spiciness. Could have used some more creaminess in the finish.

Deep amber in color, nice hard lasting head. Malty to the nose. Spicy, chocolate and pine needles here evocing everything "christmasy". The alcohol is barely apparent until its too late....Well balanced. Enjoy!!

Nice head and deep amber color. Great hop profile balanced well with malt and alcohol to match. Quite sweet, slightly piney, and a good perception of bitterness at the end.

Creamy, light tan head. Slowly diminishing head. Lots of carbonation. Dark amber color. Malty nose. Hazy hopppy bitterness with a fair amount of malt. A good Christmas beer. The alcohol is slightly warming.

Beautiful in the glass (sort of a reddish ale with a foamy head). The spices really jump out at you!

Fresh, hoppy nose with a greenish, beige creamy head and a pretty red-orange color. Very smooth, with lots of bubbles on the tounge. Citrus hop bitterness balanced nicely with sweet malt profile. Very enjoyable beer.

Off tap at the Wild Onion in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Same as every winter I’ve seen so far here. Deep chestnut/mohagany body with ruby tones as well. Nosee was loaded with berries and cream, vanilla and spice. Some floral notes in there too! Nice bitter hop finish and also some hints of lightly roasted malt as well. Velvety soft mouthfeel, followed by a crisp, dry, barley finish.

Bubbly, fully diminishing head w/ disappearing creamy top. Dark bronze with a little red. Aroma has spicy hops, ginger, cereal, and vanilla. Mild but complex. Flavor is malty and true to the aroma. Bitter, wheaty aftertaste. Medium to full bodied with mild carbonation and a little creaminess. Overall good. Changes profiles as it warms up. I like it better towards 55F.
