Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol, leading to a dry alcoholic and caramel finish.

Bottled (2005 vintage, thanks heemer77). Amber colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is spics, hops and some fruity hints. Flavour is mild hops, spices and caramel with some fruityness lurking in the background. Not that special, but wellbalanced and drinkable.

<i>Bottled at Monks Café Sveavägen, Stockholm. </i> Brownish amber, rich firm head. Floral grassy caramel aroma. Medium sweet, hearty and malty with well rounded mouthfeel. Some light syrup and marmelade to go with the piney hop bitterness. A well balanced enjoyable winter beer.

65cl bottle @ Vinens Verden, Odense. Comes as Goose Island Christmas Ale 2009. 7%. Pours dark amber reddish with a small creamy head and lacings. Aroma us vaguely roasted with notes of roast, dough, pudding, caramel and fresh hops. Quite vinous and matured malty. Inviting. Taste is bread, nuts, caramel, a bit of butter and hops. Smooth palate. Fine

2009 bottle, 7%. Vinous aroma at first, later just nicely malty. Clear chestnut colour. OK tan head. The flavour has a lot of caramel malt, a hint of spice. Tastes stronger than 7% to me. Well-balanced, though.
