3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 22oz. 2009 vintage. It’s a clear, dark golden colored beer, the head is small and beige. Toffee, alcohol notes, dried fruits and a pleasant hoppyness in the aroma. The flavor is much the same, with a pleasant bitterness bringing balance. Sweet and bitter finish, full body. A nice and tasteful beer well suited for the Holiday season. 101015

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
2009 bottle, 7%. Vinous aroma at first, later just nicely malty. Clear chestnut colour. OK tan head. The flavour has a lot of caramel malt, a hint of spice. Tastes stronger than 7% to me. Well-balanced, though.

Copper brown color, small creamy beige head. Milk chocolaty and toasted aroma. Grassy, malty, a bit roasted flavor - very bock like, not an old ale type.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: The beer pours a dark copper color with a very ample tan head.
S: An interesting combination of scents. A lot of spice such as all spice and cinnamon, along with some citrus (mostly orange), and a substantial caramel component.
T: The taste is similar to the nose. The citrus is quite dominant on the front end of the sip. The spices are a bit more muted, but the sweet caramel is the main flavor throughout the middle of the sip. There is a slight pine bitterness on the finish.
M: The body is medium and the carbonation is surprisingly moderate, considering the massive head.
D: The moderate alcohol and pleasant flavors make this beer quite drinkable. I’m not necessarily the biggest fan of Winter Warmers, but this one has a nice combination of flavors and aromas.
