My bottle is like BOBANDDOUG’s. Bottled 10/08/07. I’ll put one away. Aroma of rather darkly roasted malt. Some hop as the glass approaches the lips. Reddish tinged amber color with a beige head that is quite refined (bottle conditioned!). Medium bodied with refined carbonation. The flavor is roasted malt with some subtle floral hop and some resin. The finish is fairly dry, with some harsh roast notes, and some floral hop bitter lightly building. A dark winter brew, but not overly Xmased. Could be a year round dark ale.

Draft at Stoney’s, recommendation of Matt, thank you sir. Dark golden brown, huge off white head. Aroma of caramel and light spice. Taste is subtle nutmeg and cinnamon, nice malty sweetness. Good stuff.

The importer has glued a label claiming 7% on this bottle, but I suspect it must be the normal version. It’s hazy, red-brown with a creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of fruit, malt, caramel, raisin and peach. The flavor is moderately sweet, bordering to sweet with a slightly dry citrus bitterness, mostly in the finish. It has notes of peach, malt, caramel, citrus, melon and light raisin. It’s refreshing, pleasant and uncomplicated and the body is quite full.

A: The beer pours a dark copper color with a very ample tan head. S: An interesting combination of scents. A lot of spice such as all spice and cinnamon, along with some citrus (mostly orange), and a substantial caramel component. T: The taste is similar to the nose. The citrus is quite dominant on the front end of the sip. The spices are a bit more muted, but the sweet caramel is the main flavor throughout the middle of the sip. There is a slight pine bitterness on the finish. M: The body is medium and the carbonation is surprisingly moderate, considering the massive head. D: The moderate alcohol and pleasant flavors make this beer quite drinkable. I’m not necessarily the biggest fan of Winter Warmers, but this one has a nice combination of flavors and aromas.
