Pitch black. 1 finger coffee color head. Nose is of very little sweetness and some licorice, mint leaves and dark cocoa bourbon is obviously present as well. Body is heavy but a bit oily. Vanilla and dark chocolate with oatmeal and more licorice. This is such a nice beer but the spiciness is the only turnoff.

Draft at Claybourne on Black Friday. Before the tasting event. Great aromas of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, light nuts. The flavor is nothing but spectacular. Flavor shows a strong bourbon presence with a mellow burn after the swallow. I swear I get a mild nutty hint, but I kind of a nutjob so.... Just a wonderful fresh BBA stout!

Bottle shared by Seth. Dark brown pour with fleeting kaki head. Sweet caramel aromas. Uber sweet with huge caramel malt, chocolate, vanilla, oak, and bourbon notes. Very good mouthfeel and body. Bravo....

Bottle thanks to my man charule. Pours a deep black brown with practically no head. Aroma of vanilla toffee and caramel. Fusel alcohol notes. Taste is not very hot at all. Fudgey taste. Not much carb. Medium to thick body. *this is the bottle from the picture!!! W00t!

Draft to taster at FoBAB 2013, pours opaque black. Nose smells like bcs. Bourbon some alcohol and sweet malt. Some roast. Taste lots of bourbon. Some tanin from barrel as well, but not much. Some roast and soft malt later in palate. Long lasting.

November 29, 2013 - on tap at Goose for the Black Friday event. Dark brown pour with some head. Aroma and taste of bourbon, chocolate and oak. This was just a tad hot, so some age would really make this great.

Sampled at FoBAB2013. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of Bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla. Some leather and dough notes. Flavor is quite heavy on the bourbon, some other chocolate and roast notes, mild oatmeal sweetness. Full bodied, thick, with smooth rich carbonation. Pretty nice.

Draft at FoBAB this year. Pours black with a thin khaki colored film. The aroma had dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla oak, with some dark fruit and creamy oatmeal character. The flavor was too heavy on the bourbon side of things for my taste. I thought the body was too thin to carry off the bourbon flavors. Vanilla, oak, some chocolate were there with the mouth feel drying out toward the finish somewhat. I was definitely looking forward to this, but would have to call this a mild disappointment.
