| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jul 5, 2004 God, this beer was messed up. I don’t know if we got a bad batch or what. All I could think was heavy wine with a mildew taste. It wasn’t horrible, but I didn’t care for this at all. One questions if they actually filtered the beer through a goat. Anyway, description: Really deep brown with ruby around the edges, no head. definite chocolate and coffee in the taste and smell, but also that mildew. THe body was actually nice on it, however, like a midweight red wine. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 18, 2004 I thought mine was ok. Not a powerhouse porter, but not bad. Dark black. Roasty aroma and flavor, but not to the point of too much liquid smoke. A little flat. Watery. Pretty good, but not great. ElJefe (553), Rochester, New York, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 9, 2007 On tap at GI Clybourn. Transparent brown pour, roasty aroma. Chocolaty flavor. Decent, but I wouldn’t buy a pint of it with some of the other selections available at the brewpub.
