Draught at Broadway. Vanilla. Cherry. Oak. A very nice sour that blends these other flavors well.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On Tap at Fountainhead. Pours a bronze with a a little white head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty malts, vanilla and fresh vinous oaky complexity with a touch of grassy hay. Lots of bourbon notes with a nice semi-tart white grape balance along with drier woody earthy flavors toward a crisp finish. Nicely aged and complex.

Poured into a tulip at the Goose Island Brewery. Slight head, aroma of bourbon and slightly funky. Sour and tart fruit taste. It really works well. The bourbon flavor is present and makes this a remarkable beer. Bottle this please!

Aroma is heavily influenced by the bourbon -lots of coconut, some light cherry and raisin notes underneath, with a touch of caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, with a light tartness, some cherry, lots of cherry, light bitterness, and lots of vanilla bourbon.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at The Reef. I thought this was a nice sour ale that had a hint of oak and bourbon from the barrel to balance out the sour. Interesting sour ale and very good.

Draft at Trion...pours a light bronze with a medium tan head. Nose is bright, funky berry notes with some mild vanilla and oak notes coming through. Medium bodied...flavors consist of tart berries, oak and vanilla bean on the finish. Unique brew.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap, RFD. Slightly hazy, but really mostly clear. Light orange hue with a thinnish white head. Light soapy funk in the aroma and flavor, and caught some barrel-aging, but not much...more a sweetness in the aroma and flavor that almost lended itself to a strawberry-like fruitiness at some points. Sourish finish, and a warming note from the BA, and an earthy and fruit funk finish. Lighter but slick body. Not bad, but a bit too sweet at this point. More funk and sour needed, just too rounded for me.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at chappy’s in Dayton Ohio. Pours a deep amber with a small off white froth. Aroma is very interesting, vinous and sharp with a strong bourbon vanilla note, a touch of sharp lemon zest and a distinct woody note. Flavor has much the same aggressive lemon zest tartness with a nice cream vanilla and earthy wood character. In a way, the characteristics do battle each other but they are distinct and provide a nice complexity that makes the whole swallow quite interesting. Finishes tart and earthy with. Bit of a bite, but a bourbony aftertaste. Medium body and a sharp carbonation. I really dig this beer, complex and rich.

Draft at Churchkey, courtesy of Greg - thank you sir! Bright amber color, scant head. Aroma of whiskey. Taste is boozy caramel, oak, wood. Not much evidence of brett, but nicely complex, good character. Would like to see what happens if the brett is given more time to work.
