Murky amber color with no head. Banana-ish aroma. Good malt, wheat, and fruit taste with a hit of banana as well. A bit of spice as well. Outstanding.

This is some good stuff. Out of all the beers I sample at Goose Island this was the only one that was really worth a second glance. Hazy orange-amber. Very spicy and fruity with a hint of alcohol. Reminds me very much of Aventinus--high praise coming from me.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2004 Hazy reddish copper with no head. The aroma shows strong banana and clove, with underlying notes of caramel, cinnamon, and perhaps a hint of light orange. The body is fairly full, considering this is an 8.0% wheat beer. The flavor is pretty good, though dominated by the banana and clove. Quite sweet, actually. Good, but the lack of carbonation and the immense sweetness detract from an otherwise quality beer.

This was on the "coming soon" list on the chalkboard but one of the brewers came out with some for me and another customer, as he saw we were interested in the beer. He introduced himself and the beer, saying it was pretty much ready but wouldn’t be out for another week or two. He also described this as essentially a double-recipe version of their hefe. Reddish, peach-brown color with some cling to the head. This really intensifies the banana and bubblegum--the brewer said he prefers these flavors to the spicier side of hefeweizens--and definitely sweeter and tangier. Citrus-orange underneath. Not super-carbonated, but perhaps that was because of the origin of my sample, whereas once it is on the regular taps it will be? You can cut the flavors with a knife--just so thick. Excellent. (on tap at Clybourn location)
