Long days and warm nights awaken the city. The list of neighborhood festivals is endless. As is the great music that brings us together in parks and parking lots. We brewed our Session IPA to be easy drinking and endlessly refreshing, so you can enjoy every encore. Bright note of fresh oranges and other citrus fruit with a mild body that is crisp on the palate.

Admin Note: Although this is similar to Forcone, Goose Island assures me this beer is a different recipe for large scale release in 2014 evolved from that original batch for Pitchfork Music Festival 2013.

Pours a clear golden color with nice lacing and great head retention. Smells floral, like lavendar. Tastes about the same....a solidly good ipa.

bottle. pretty basic IPA - a great beer for folks making a gradual change from the macros. Still, a basic IPA is always a good choice

Transfer from BA review on 4-18-14- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a medium golden color with a small head of pure white foam. The head has a moderate level of retention, fading over time to leave a tiny bit of foamy lace clinging to the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a citrus smell, with it being a nice mix of sweet tangerine and bitter grapefruit hop. Other lighter aromas of a caramel and bready nature are there as well along with a variety of other hop smells. Of these other hop aromas, a grassy and pine smell are the strongest, but there are also hints of other aromas of a floral nature mixed within as well, overall producing a very inviting aroma. Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter citrus and caramel flavor with the citrus being largely of a tangerine nature but having some hints of a ruby red grapefruit. Other sweeter fruit flavors of a tropical fruit nature are there as well with some mango and papaya. Upfront there is also a breadiness as well as a lighter bitter grapefruit hop flavor which melds quite well with the sweet ruby red grapefruit taste. As the taste advances, the bready fades some, with it being replaced by more tropical fruits. Some other hop flavors hit the tongue later on in the taste, with a little bit of grass and some floral flavors arriving. Overall the hop remains very detectable, but somewhat subdued and not too potent mixing with all the sweeter fruit flavors to leave a moderately sweet and smooth flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side with a carbonation level that is on the higher side overall. A slightly thinner body actually may have been a bit nicer for downplaying all the sweeter flavors and allowing the hops to shine through a little more, but even with that said, the feel was OK overall. Overall – A very easy drinking brew. I really wouldn’t consider it an IPA, but more in the genre of a american pale ale. It had a nice mix of sweet and hop though, making for a good easy drinking and rather refreshing brew overall.

Flavor has light malt sweetness, slightly grainy, some slightly stale fruity hops and a bitterish finish. Light to medium-bodied. Easy-drinking.

Pours a clear orange with a medium sized dense white head. Aroma of citrus and grassy hops with some malt sweetness. Flavor starts sweet and moves to slight grassy hop bitterness. Was hoping for a bit more flavor.

Light copper or peach pour, clear and effervescent with a half inch dense white head. Aroma of juicy orange and pungent citrus zests. Lively carbonation, lively tingly mouthfeel marked down for being a bit foamy, really clean finish. Robust pine and citrus zest taste accompanied by solid biscuit malt. Well done session, ABV well hidden by mouthfeel.
