COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Long days and warm nights awaken the city. The list of neighborhood festivals is endless. As is the great music that brings us together in parks and parking lots. We brewed our Session IPA to be easy drinking and endlessly refreshing, so you can enjoy every encore. Bright note of fresh oranges and other citrus fruit with a mild body that is crisp on the palate.

Admin Note: Although this is similar to Forcone, Goose Island assures me this beer is a different recipe for large scale release in 2014 evolved from that original batch for Pitchfork Music Festival 2013.

Appearance: clear medium gold with one fat finger of rocky white head, moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: citrus, resiny pine, pale malt, slight catty. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (6/10) Medium-light body, moderate carbonation, crisp mild bitter lightly spicy finish. (3/5) Not a bad little session IPA from the Goose. Bitterness is restrained, which is a good thing in a session IPA: I find that the thinner body of this style limits how much bitterness can reasonably be supported before it comes across as sharp and astringent. I’m getting just a hint of cattiness in the hop aroma, and it grows as the beer warms, but not to the point of it being a problem. Definitely a quick thirst quencher, instead of a leisurely sipper. This IPA poured a clear, yellow colour with a big rocky, off white head. Scents include hops, being orange lemon citrus hops, grass and hay. First swig was quite nice and not as over hopped that I was expecting. Flavours of orange, lemon and grassy hops. Finish is lightly bitter with citrus flavours lingering.

Can (473 ml), shared. Clear pale golden with a small white head leaving little lacing. Aroma is of citrus, mild herbal hops, mild fruitiness and resinous notes. Taste is also of citrus, caramel, mild herbal notes, mild spiciness and mild resinous bitterness. Light to medium body. Medium to high carbonation. Moderately dry finish and herbal notes. Very easy drinking. Good.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2016 Pours a clear golden with a medium foamy white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of fruity hops with some resin. Taste is not quite sweet and lightly bitter. Some caramel and pine. More fruitiness. Body is light to medium and carbonation moderately high. Not too shabby!

Faint citrus hops, but mostly this has the same stale hop smell as the regular Goose Island IPA. Lots of club soda taste. If I really want something sessionable, which I do, then there are far better options out there than this.

Pours clears gold with a small white ring. Aroma is light cereal malt with citrus hops. Taste is a nice balance of citrus hop with malt sweetness. Easy drinking and very palpable, good entrance IPA.

(1813-030516)

Clear yellowish pour. Citrus hoppy aroma but very reduced and a bit of hay. Medium bodied but has a citrus flavour. Fast profile and light on the finish. Never enjoyed this beer style as I always find these beers watery.
