COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Long days and warm nights awaken the city. The list of neighborhood festivals is endless. As is the great music that brings us together in parks and parking lots. We brewed our Session IPA to be easy drinking and endlessly refreshing, so you can enjoy every encore. Bright note of fresh oranges and other citrus fruit with a mild body that is crisp on the palate.

Admin Note: Although this is similar to Forcone, Goose Island assures me this beer is a different recipe for large scale release in 2014 evolved from that original batch for Pitchfork Music Festival 2013.

Bottle, pours a nice golden amber, first sip was expecting something else but this session ale settles well and leaves a nice aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Yellow pour, white head. Lightly bitter, pretty refreshing. I don’t think this is bad at all but it’s not anywhere nearbtge top of my session ipa list.

An interesting basil and mirabelle plum nose but the taste is quite poor, there is no finish what so ever. As often, nice smell but not much behind...

12 oz bottle. Fine straw color with a grassy citrus aroma. Taste is bright with a little bite of grapefruit. Nice medium long finish. Very refreshing and easy drinkability.

12 oz bottle from BOTW, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear golden with a decent white head. Aroma: Some leafy, resinous, peppery hops with a light citrus note and something savoury that is familiar but ethereal...might be vegetal (peas)??, light eucalyptus. Palate: Medium body with moderate carbonation and an acidic astringency. Flav.: Eucalyptus and honey, citrus, leafy/herbal notes, not much like the nose with an oddly sweet malt note; off-dry with decent bitterness and a mineral, eucalyptus and honey finish.

I think that this “Session IPA” category is a lousy trend. I find most offerings are a bit thin and unbalanced with odd hop contributions to both the aroma and flavour.

RSRIZZO (1871) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - NOV 15, 2014
12oz bottle (Courtesy of Headbanger) poured into a Shaker at 45°. Color is a bright clear gold with good carbonation and a small rocky head. Aroma is sour burnt orange. It has a lighter medium body with a crisp mouth feel. Flavor is a bit like the aroma, it comes across like dried orange peel that’s been burnt a bit of citrus and a mellow bitterness. After taste is smooth and bitter with the orange thing hanging on. Overall I don’t like it, I can’t put my finger on what this taste like but it shouldn’t be in beer.

From a bottle has at first a somewhat lemon appeal that goes almost green citrus rind. Yellow like any pale beer. Yes, somewhat thinner ipa but make no mistake it does have a rather sharp hop kick. As the session continues I start to think its a tuffer apa. After each slug you get that piercing bright bitterness, now I’m thinken like a sharp pils? What a metamorphosis. Just like forcone.

Tap at random Irish pub. Pours light orange golden. Small head and light nose of pine. Tastes of basic pine, light citrus, resin, maybe some tropical fruit. Easy drinking touch thin. Light sweetness on finish.

Golden yellow pour. Nose of ipa citrus. Taste starts very pale and turns decently bitter on finish. Not bad.

Pours a clear golden color with nice lacing and great head retention. Smells floral, like lavendar. Tastes about the same....a solidly good ipa.
