Bottle, pours a nice golden amber, first sip was expecting something else but this session ale settles well and leaves a nice aftertaste.

Short and to the point . Very bold, how a proper IPA should be. Great color followed by sensible aroma. Very choice.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear, dark yellow with a half finger of frothy white head. Aroma is mostly citrus with a little pine and tropical fruits. Taste is lightly bitter. Pine with some citrus. Medium bodied with a somewhat watery texture. Fizzy carbonation but a decently long finish. Not bad, kinda plain and subpar.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This was a more or less random pick at a local restaurant. The waitstaff didn't know what kind of beer it was just that it was Goose Island. So I selected it. Hoppy beers aren't my thing. This was pretty much a standard over hopped beer. Nothing special, in my opinion.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
I’m guessing this is the Goose Island IPA that I had on tap at a Tiki Bar on Siesta Key in Florida as it was thin, lacking in hop aromas/flavors with a caramel flavor that was unappealing. Goose Island sure has tanked since the days I lived by the original pub in Chicago.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Yellow pour, white head. Lightly bitter, pretty refreshing. I don’t think this is bad at all but it’s not anywhere nearbtge top of my session ipa list.

3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
An interesting basil and mirabelle plum nose but the taste is quite poor, there is no finish what so ever. As often, nice smell but not much behind...

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz bottle from BOTW, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear golden with a decent white head.
Aroma: Some leafy, resinous, peppery hops with a light citrus note and something savoury that is familiar but ethereal...might be vegetal (peas)??, light eucalyptus.
Palate: Medium body with moderate carbonation and an acidic astringency.
Flav.: Eucalyptus and honey, citrus, leafy/herbal notes, not much like the nose with an oddly sweet malt note; off-dry with decent bitterness and a mineral, eucalyptus and honey finish.
I think that this “Session IPA” category is a lousy trend. I find most offerings are a bit thin and unbalanced with odd hop contributions to both the aroma and flavour.
