Flight pour on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). Pours a rich deep hazy copper pour, ruby red with deep haze. Some glow on the edges and frothy tannish head that dies to a good filmy layer, laces ok. Aromas are richer touches of cranberry, berry, and citrus. Lemon berry, some toast, bready and biscuity malt influences. A touch tart and still a touch of malty influence, gentle dry hop. Initial is lighter end of the fold on body, some touches of medium girth that die off into a light bodied feel into the backend and finish. Front shows some dryness, cranberry tartness, touches of toast, bread. Dryness, middle isn’rt girthy or sticky, just a bit grainy, mellow sweetness. Tartness, dry twang return into the backend, some fruit, a bit of a tart finish as the malt element gets covered up. Light, tart, dry overall. Cranberries are a fun treatment here.
