On tap on the Bavarian Lodge. This beer showed good promise all the way through, but left me wanting more. Some light funk, potpourri florals, and tart mixed berries on the aroma. A nice light fluffy white head on the pour, pale orange in color. This one also very light tasting for the abv, almost to a fault, but smooth feeling and well balanced. The flavor notes all tie in well together with some sour funk, a good amount of florals but evidently not all hop variety, and sweet tropical fruit complexities. So a very drinkable and interesting beer, but not quite as exciting as I’d like it to be.

Tap at Ginger Man. Aroma very floral with cherry and raspberry and soft yeast notes. Flavor is tart-herbal with nutty/earthy yeast notes and perhaps just a bit heavy on the candy sugars. Interesting, not bad.

Orange to copper in color. Moderate and stable off-white head. Decent lace. Pale malt, yeast, light fruit and floral hops aromas. Pale malt sweetness in the start. Bits of barnyard, grass, herbs and earthy fruit. Finish is a bit herbal and earthy. Sweeter malt and floral finish.

Draft, Bavarian Lodge. Kind of peach colored in the Goose Island tulip, with a whipped-egg-white Belgian type head. Smell carries a slight note of orange zest. Taste is a bit sweet — the beer menu describes it as a Belgian pale ale — but still fine. The hibiscus is not really present, just a general flowery overtone on orange zest, and an ephemeral lightening of the beer in general. Belgian candi sugars poke up. Ultimately comes across as a cooler fermented saison. At 7% abv, it’s very easy drinking.

Draft. Pours amber orange with a thin head. Sweet aroma, with fruity and flowery notes. The flavor has a fruity sweetness, floral notes, and a light saisonesque spice presence. Not bad.

TAP: semi-hazy amber pour, white head. Nose is very mild, caramel and hop on taste, moderate body, very good.

Draft. Smells bitter and unappealing, perfumy, light fruit, pour is a clear medium brown with a foamy thick head. Tastes floral and almost sickly sweet, with a hint of bubble gum at first that fades to a drier more bitter finish.

Rated live from goose island clark. Pours darker orange woody color with a very fine white head. My girlfrind was quick to point out the similarity to Matilda. Fruity Belgian yeast, toasty warm malts, the hibiscus is really nice, somewhat tart, warming alcohol, candish sweetness, lovely. Flavor follows aroma exactly, basically matilda with tart hibiscus and sans the Brett. Warm and toasty, dryer, crisp, softy sweet and tart. Nice.

Tons of hibiscus. Slightly wild yet fruity taste. Almost like a light Founders Cerise. Decent.
