COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big on flavor and aromatics, this double IPA was hopped with over 15lbs of Citra and Simcoe hops. It tastes and smells like juicy tropical fruit with a hint of Northwest pine.

Apricot color, pineapple aroma, grapefruit flavor, full body

Grapefruit all over this one. I like that on an ipa. Pours golden amber. Some head. Fruity and citrus on the nose. Very nicely balanced beer.

Sampled from the tap at the Clyborn location. Pours a clear amber orange with a gray head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of resinous pine with sap and sweet grains. Flavor starts with resinous pine and a sweet grain coming out in the finish.

Sample at the Clybourn brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a medium foamy white head that recedes slowly. Small sticky patches of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of hops, grapefruit and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

16 Nov 2012, tap at goose island Wrigleyville. Nose is big resiny hops and moderate alcohol. Med body and faintly fizzy. Tastes of dried, possibly mildewed grass. Not that nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Goose Island Clybourn with Erica on 10.18.2012. In town for Jen’s and Mark’s engagement party. Dark amber with off-white head. Apricot/grapefruit dominates the palate. High carb. Sweet and fresh finish. Wish I had written more notes, but I thought it was pretty good.

Draft at Goose Island. Pours a glowing orangey gold, mostly clear with a frothy head. The nose is very tropical and fruity with slight catty notes & crisp citrus as well. not overbearing, allowing soft malt expression to come through. On tasting, big bitterness, but not abrasive in the least. Clean and fresh, this is the type of beers GI does very well. Some light sweetness and a sturdy malt profile, all kept in balance. Really nice beer.

draft at brewery. Very lovely Imperial IPA - serious grapefruit note and awesome hops. Good stuff
