3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught, Chicago architecture boat tour ix13. Pours an inviting honey yellow with some substance. Aroma is slight citrus and grass, honey sweet malts. Light-mid bodied like most GI I/APAs so far, with biscuit malts making a shy but welcome appearance. OK, brewed for sessioning, but feels like a forced and lacklustre exercise compared to many other APAs from the region.

The best I can go on this is not too bad... It's like entry level pale ale here..nothing is bright about it as is described. Dull hop front with slight hop aroma and taste...the maltiness comes through more than all else ... It's fine just doesn't hold up when you have sooo many other rock star pales and iPas in Chicago ( half acres daisy cutter...Piece the weight...etc etc etc....) I'll pass next time unless I'm in a pinch...

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Location: Drafts at Bull & Bear, 8/22/13
Aroma: The nose is light and hoppy, some grass, toasted malts, bread, and a little earth
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-orange color with a white head and good lace
Flavor: Tastes clean and malty, a little sweet, with some nice grass and earthy bitterness as well
Palate: The body is light, leaning medium, it is clean and smooth, with a very nice drinkability
I thought this was a solid one. The components are all there to make a good APA, though it feels just a hint light on the nose and taste. It works nicely as a sessionable beer, but at the same time, it isnít bursting with flavor.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap in a few places while visiting Chicago. Good APA with respectable hoppiness, notes of toasted grain, spice, and a little nuttiness contribute to its character. A little sour in the end.

Perfect session beer for me...low alcohol and full of flavor with a good hop kick. Also, since in Chicago only, itís always fresh. Had about 15 of these in tap everywhere last weekend. Crisp up front, well balanced, easy drinking. Good hop kick, but not too much.

7/20/2011: Goose Island Green Line Pale Ale... Aroma: Soft grapefruit. Appearance: Nice, fluffy off-white head; golden color with a slight chill haze. Flavor: Toasted malts; honey malt sweetness; mild floral and grapefruit hops; slightly dry finsih. Palate: Calm mouthfeel. Overall: Iíve been wanting to have this beer for a long time and I FINALLY got to try it after so many trips to Chicagoland; this is a pale ale for the masses, but itís still plenty good; itís very sessionable beer that didnít disasspoint.
Pint (draught) at ??? in Chicago, IL. Rating #178 for this beer.
