COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Green Line Pale Ale is a honey-colored, immensely sessionable American pale ale with a pronounced, bright, American hop aroma and citrus flavor. Notes of biscuit and lightly toasted malt create the backbone for Green Line’s pleasant, crisp bitterness.

I had this on-tap at Buffalo Wild Wings in Shorewood, IL for $6.00 in early 2012. Pours a cloudy copper orange color with a fluffy head. Scent is slightly wheaty with a hint of hops. Taste is crisp and slightly bitter with hints of sweet citrus. Finishes smooth and slightly dry. Rather quite refreshing for a spring beer.

From notes. First reviewed 12/18/2010. Served on tap in a pint glass. Green Line pours a hazy amber color with a modest, creamy, white head. The head fades to a ring but leaves some nice lace on the glass. This aroma smells like is was hopped a bit further than 312, so I was pleasantly surprised. Sugary and caramel biscuity malt, some light grapefruit citrus, and some pine hop aroma as well. The taste starts with a soft sweetness to accompany the biscuity malt. There is no dry crackery taste, simply a fuller bready flavor. Grapefruit leads into pine hops to finish the flavor. The feel is creamy in a relaxing sort of way, with a lighter than medium body, and medium carbonation. Light hop oil resides on the tongue after each sip. I like this a bit more than 312; it just has more character. Still better examples of the style out there.

One of my all time favorites, Green Line is a delightful treat from Goose Island. Hoppy while not too bitter, a smooth drink that delights the senses.

draft. Never liked the lime pale ale - tried at the tasting to see if I missed something - nope!

Pours light golden with a thin off-white head. Notes of citrus, bitter orange peel, sulfur and coarse leafy hops. Medium bodied, lightly resinous with moderate carbonation.

This poured a dark yellow to lgiht orange color with a beige head. Aroma was crackery and biscuits, with medium to light citrus and grassy hops. Flavor was a very balanced pale ale, not really hoppy, but enough bittering balance to keep it from being malty. Decent.

Wellington’s, Chicago tap ($3): Pours a copperish color with a nice white head (I think the picture is just fine). Aroma is a whole bunch of citrusy hops and some sweet malts. This is a very drinkable beer and basically defines an American session without doing anything at all extraordinary. In short, it is a well balanced beer with a moderate hop presence and enough sweetness and spice to be palatable to virtually any kind of beer drinker.

Again, tried this at the Clybourn location. 10 karat pour with a small ivory head that left a ton of lacing. Aggressive and hop forward, specifically when you look at the ABV. Nose of bright citrus rind, sharp pine, and caramel. Flavor has just a touch of honey for balance along with lemon grass, and grapefruit pith. Medium mouthfeel with ample carbonation.
