Green Line Pale Ale is a honey-colored, immensely sessionable American pale ale with a pronounced, bright, American hop aroma and citrus flavor. Notes of biscuit and lightly toasted malt create the backbone for Green Line’s pleasant, crisp bitterness.

Tasted 8/18/11. Pint draft from The Boundary, Chicago. Pours filtered and golden with an off white head. Aromas of fresh grassy hops and a mild malt bill. Hop dominant in the palate, but it still has a decent dose of toasty, tangy malts. This is actualy quite nice! A solid sipper!

On tap @ Goose Island O’Hare. Hazed golden pour with white foam. Really grassy hop nose. A little bit of citrus character and some leafy, floral hops. Kind of soapy. Fair amount of bready malt as well. There’s a lot of bready, malty sweetness to the flavor and somewhat of a muddled, unimpressive hop character. Mostly just dominated by the grassy hops. Lightly bitter.

2/12/15 - Finley Dunnes (Chicago) Draft - Nice hoppy aroma. Not very strong, very light in terms of alcohol and texture. Went down very smooth. Taste not overwhelming, and great for dining or when you are looking for a lighter good tasting beer.

On tap at GI O’Hare. Pours golden orange with a big, fizzy white head. Aroma is of light hops, wheat, and citrus. Doesn’t smell amazing. Taste is of wheat and biscuit. Very light hop character. Very fizzy, but it goes down easy. Lingering dry, biscuity taste. It’s really nothing special, but it’s easy to drink.

Draft. Did not realize this was Goose Island or I wouldn’t have ordered it. Tap handle was deceiving. Regardless, this beer is weak sauce. Brewed for the masses.

Pour on tap at the brewery, clear golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of grass, herbal, some slight husky notes into vanilla, honey, biscuit, slight grain. Taste is a mix of honey, biscuit, bready notes into some grass, honey, finishing slightly bitter.

I thought this was adequate, like a light pale. Very lightly hopped, almost like a cream ale.

Bottle@Lou Malnati’s, Chicago. Deep golden color, white head. Hoppy aroma. Aromatic fruit flavor. Medium body, medium carbonation. Not bad.

Pretty decent, but average pale ale. Sampled this on draft at the original Uno’s in Chicago. Light copper color, good amount of hops in the nose along with bready and malty notes. The beer laced fairly nice around the inside of the glass. The body and flavors were well-balanced and delicious, with a nice amount of dry and flowery hops. I also tasted a balanced amount of bready malt in the flavors.

Draft at the Chicago O’Hare Airport. Pours almost clear amber with a thick, fizzy off white head. Tastes like crisp cracker malt, straw, grass, light musky dry citrus hops, some lemon, and a light sweetness. Light body and blow carbonation. Smells like biscuit malt, light corn, light citrus, and a bit musky.
