There’s big spice, fruit and floral taste in this one, but it doesn’t have the abv kick that you may associate with bold aspect beer. They claim to make it light on strength so that you’re able to have more than one, not making a fool out of yourself on the holidays. I liked in a lot.

This poured a cloudy dark yellow color with a white head. Aroma was lots of belgian spices and yeast. Flavor was much the same, almost of the top sppicey with no fruit of malt flavors to balance it out. Eh.

Draft at GI Clybourn. Pours a nice enough looking orangey bronze, decent head, though is falls down. Nose is lightly spicy and has a faint tart note to it. Hint of caramel malt and phenols? Not a lot going on in the nose. On tasting, there are some fusel notes & a strong estery presence that gives it a bit of character. It also has a distinct astringency to the palate as well and seems a touch sharp. Not a bad beer, just not quite right.

Flight serving on tap at the Clybourn Brewpub (Chicago, IL). Pours a lively copper amber hue, a glowing element, no real haze with a great glow, small offwhite head dies to a film and laces small. Aromas are caramel and brown sugar, touches of darkness, with some cherries, gentle spice, and some Belgian yeast. Sweeter. Initial is medium bodied, offering some gentle sweetness, caramel and toffee, gentle toast, some fruit, spice, and yeast. Brown sugar. Touches of caramel, gentle vanilla. Backend throws a touch of dryness, spice, and lingering sweetness. I kinda feel this one is a bit simple and sweet, it works overall.
