COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honker’s Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honker’s Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one you’ll look forward to time and again.

The new bottle says it is more of an english pale ale or bitter. Pours a light copper with a medium fluffy white head. Aroma is earthy, woodsy and a bit grassy. Flavor also has those english style hops with lots of earthiness and some spice along with a hint of harsh smokey hops. Light malt backbone. Finish is moderately bitter and very clean.

Bottle: A nice pale ale. A nice amber color with a quickly disappearing head. Has a somewhat fruity aroma and a smooth hoppy tase.

Second best known beer in Chicago (behind Old Style, of course). For an American Pale Ale brewed for the masses, its a well crafted beer. I hope someday this beer will be widely available outside the Midwest. If distributed nationwide I believe Honkers Ale could be successful as SNPA.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pretty amber colour, slightly hazy with a small, white head. Lots of aroma hops in the nose. Quite full-bodied with a slightly sweetish caramel malt. Notes of somewhat over ripe - almost rotten - fruit. The aroma hops also leave quite a good bitterness. 180705

Bottle. My kind of beer! Fresh, fruity aroma. Flavor is typical APA. Fruity, dry, fresh. -With a note of pralines! Yummy.

Bottle. Fizzy medium white head sits atop a orange/amber body, very few bubbles and medium lacing. Pale and biscuit like malts in the nose with a line of fruitiness including (light spiced tea, pear, and mild pineapple). Some (SA) like eartyness, and hint of alcohol in the nose. Very refreshing in an ice tea sort of way. No really assertive hops in the brew, but still tasty. Clean, thin bodied and very drinkable. Nice lingering mild spices in the finish. "APA??" Tastes like an EPA or a bitter to me. Really enjoyed this one.

Pint served draught from the Goose Island Kiosk in the Chicago Airport
Browned straw color, light layer of white head and mild lacing. Light hops and creamy rich malty balance. Well built with not too many flaws. Very dinkable and solid APA. I can see why this might be so popular to the masses.

Poured a dark copper out of the bottle. Nice head and lasting lace. Aromatic hops greet you as you raise the glass to your nose. Tingly crispness greets the tongue and mouth followed by spicy hops. There is a slight citrus, crisp aftertaste. Always pleasing (especially on tap at a favorite pizza joint)

Poured light amber with a thin whitr head. Aroma had caramel and peach plus citrus and graitfruit. Weak aroma though. Taste was kind of bitter and unbalanced. Slightly above average overall.

Park Slope, Brooklyn. Delicious, refreshing, standard quality pale ale. Good for hot summer afternoons. This one was particularly ugh and humid, even in the biergarten.
