Pours a deep dark amber with a small head. Nice toffee aroma. Taste is kind of boring but very nicely balanced with caramel malt, hops with a touch of fruity citrus. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is full, round and creamy. A decent easy-drinking brew.

my introduction to craft brewed goodness. had on tap an they clyborn brew pub. white head. good lace. extremely welll balenced. to truely appreciate this american pale ale it should be enjoyed on tap at the source--one of the goose island brew pubs on the north side of chicago.

On tap in a downtown bar in Maryville, Mo. Nice amber color. Thin white head. Hop aroma and dry flavor that comes from the gracious application of IBU’s. Could use a little more malt body, but this is a very drinkable everyday pale ale. A true delight on tap in a faux college town. Love the tap handle of the goose head.

One of the better beers, although not as good as Sierra Nevada or Boulevard.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice ale. Not wery bitter but pretty refreshing and a bit more mainstream, it sells a lot, that’s proberly why the brewery says it is the best beer in town, but it is not.

light amber color. lightly hoppy aroma (cascades?) , a little malt in the nose too. nothing overly complex in the body, solid malt backbone with nicely balanced hops. not an overly hoppy APA, but instead it’s a really likeable mild pale ale. i will buy it again.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A golden brew with a lovely cascadey hop nose with some graininess. The flavour is a bit of a let down after the nose IMO, with plain maltiness, some bitterness and a touch of hop. Fairly dry, plain finish. (Bottle from Booths supermarket, Cheshire)

One of the better ale’s in the midwest. My personal favorite of the Goose Island brews, and one of the better ale’s I have sampled.
