COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honkerís Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honkerís Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one youíll look forward to time and again.

Not quite as hoppy as I would have liked, but still not bad. Amber coloring, with a funny off-white head. Malty aroma, with some citrus mixed in. Flavor is fairly mellow, with a pretty substantial mouthfeel. Run of the mill, but not in a bad way.

Heavy on the oranges and melons here--great glowing orange color and a touch of marmalade sugar smell. Mildly carbonated, a hit of retronasal citrus and hay, and distinct sourdough finish. Very nice.

Golden with small quick off white head. Aroma is a musty malt and a bit of a mild hop. Flavor is malty and husky and only with a little hop flavor. Average character and a bit wattery. Not remarkable, simply because it is fairly plain. Tame beer without much complexity.

The Goose. Copper to amber in color with an off white head. The aroma is not as hoppy as I remember, but there is a nice caramelly malt aroma with a light floral hop in the background. The flavor is plenty bitter, with good balancing malt that is reminiscent of slightly toasted bread and light caramel. The body is good and the finish good. Overall, this is a well made beer, exactly what I expect from Goose Island.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2006 [bottle from peckhams] pours a light brown colour with a minimal head. Grassy hop, grapefruits, biscuity and an unusual but not unpleasant aroma of tea. light body with a bitter kick in the finish

Cheers radiomgb for bringing me this from your Chicago run. Nice amber body with a malty/light hop blend aroma. Nice. Flavour is more of the same although I would have liked it to be more asservtive. Medium body and slightly quick in the finish. Enjoyable but not search-it-out noteworthy.

Bottle-Poured a nice hazy amber, fine malty flavor with a soft finish. Does taste more British than APA.

Goose Islandís mainstay. Ubiquitous in the Chicago area, but perhaps a tougher find elsewhere.

12oz bottle. Deep amber pour. Not much aroma - some malt, and maybe some earthy hops. Nice malty flavor, and more of the hops. Unappropriately bitter bite on the last bottle I sampled.

12 oz. Bottle: Transparent Golden with a short lived, but decent sized white head. Aromas are very airy, with some light hops mixed in, also get hints of grains and bread. Flavor is nothign spectacular, grains, slight corn, mellow hops. Finishes short and watery, typical to what I would expect. Like most of their other beers, this would make a nice session beer.
