Goose Islandís mainstay. Ubiquitous in the Chicago area, but perhaps a tougher find elsewhere.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Deep amber pour. Not much aroma - some malt, and maybe some earthy hops. Nice malty flavor, and more of the hops. Unappropriately bitter bite on the last bottle I sampled.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. Bottle: Transparent Golden with a short lived, but decent sized white head. Aromas are very airy, with some light hops mixed in, also get hints of grains and bread. Flavor is nothign spectacular, grains, slight corn, mellow hops. Finishes short and watery, typical to what I would expect. Like most of their other beers, this would make a nice session beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Little hop aroma, thin malt middle. Some nice summertime notes of wheat, orange and earth but limited at most. Light ale at best.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a nice deep amber with foamy off-white head that laces nicely as it dissipates. Aroma is a bit weak... hops come through. Malt quickly gives way to pleasant hopping in taste. Slightly bitter due to hops that also picks up some citrus flavors with maybe a hint of pine, but palate does not develop fully. Nice light ale for summer.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle, Chicago airport. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, fully diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, orange). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A rather uninspiring pale ale.

Pour is a nice orange color with no head. Aroma is of citrus hops. Flavor is a bit weak but you get the hops and malts in there. A fine pale ale but still lacking somthing. Overall very ok.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2008 One of the beers that got me going on craft beer. These days its pretty middle of the road. Everything is pretty uninspiring, yet good enough for an everyday staple beer.
