Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honkerís Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honkerís Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one youíll look forward to time and again.

Clear darker golden pour with a solid layer of off-white head. Nice intricate lacing as it went down. Nose picked up some sweetness from caramel malt as well as a subtle spice bouquet and some floral hops. Flavor found all that the aroma had to offer. Somewhat dry and slightly oily on the palate with a medium-lasting citrus hop finish. Tasty little ale.

Bottle. Nice brownish amber color with a small foamy head. Lots of spicy, fruity hops in the aroma (apples and pears) and a bit of sweet malt in the background. Flavors of spiced apples, plums and grassy hops. Bitter, spicy finish with a tease of sweet caramel malt. Good body and light carbonation. My first goose island beer and I liked it..

Had 2 with lunch today. 90+ degrees and it went down geat. Not overwhelming while having enough of a taste to make you want another swallow. At only $3 a bottle in a "nice" bar, a real pleasure of a beer to drink.

The new bottle says it is more of an english pale ale or bitter. Pours a light copper with a medium fluffy white head. Aroma is earthy, woodsy and a bit grassy. Flavor also has those english style hops with lots of earthiness and some spice along with a hint of harsh smokey hops. Light malt backbone. Finish is moderately bitter and very clean.

Bottle: A nice pale ale. A nice amber color with a quickly disappearing head. Has a somewhat fruity aroma and a smooth hoppy tase.

Second best known beer in Chicago (behind Old Style, of course). For an American Pale Ale brewed for the masses, its a well crafted beer. I hope someday this beer will be widely available outside the Midwest. If distributed nationwide I believe Honkers Ale could be successful as SNPA.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pretty amber colour, slightly hazy with a small, white head. Lots of aroma hops in the nose. Quite full-bodied with a slightly sweetish caramel malt. Notes of somewhat over ripe - almost rotten - fruit. The aroma hops also leave quite a good bitterness. 180705

Bottle. My kind of beer! Fresh, fruity aroma. Flavor is typical APA. Fruity, dry, fresh. -With a note of pralines! Yummy.
